@Mastahg Q1: Is there a way to define a home point so if you die during a profile it can release back to the home point and run back to the loop? Ideally it would allow you to teleport to a defined crystal and run back to the path/mesh generated but even if it just used a crystal in the same zone that you set as your home point would work. A1: Q2: Is there code set up to check to gear durability like in HB so that once your gear reaches a certin percentage he will go repair at the designated NPC? If so please let me know what the code. A2: Q3 Is there support for aggressive NPC detection? It would be awesome if RB would detect a hostile NPC in the area (automatically or even if we set the NPC's on a list) and then if you are going to path by them it would activate stealth but once it passes that npc it would go back to using sprint to get from node to node. A3: Q4: Can you explain the Blackspot and Hotspot feature in the profile maker? Ive been making my own profiles but im not sure what those two do. A4: Q5: Currently Gatherbro seems to go after nodes in the order they spawned so if one spawned far away and while you are harvesting a different node one spawns directly next to you then RB goes to the far one first just to backtrack to the other node. Is there a way to set it so it will check for the closest node after harvesting the current node? A5: Q6: I really like the mesh system as opposed to the waypoints however there does not seem to be an option for node distance on meshes. As a result in smaller areas the distance between nodes is to large and you must go back and manually add nodes. It would be great if you could make it so you can define the distance between nodes as well as an option to set the radius for the mass meshing option. A6: Thanks
these are all good questions and i'm also interested in answers for them all.. mostly q1 q2 q3.. assuming the blacklist feature is to well blacklist a certain area.. as in to avoid or not go to.. personally haven't used it though so ionno..
I'm 99% certain that the answer to questions 1-5 is no. Question 6 was more of a request... It seems that since Mastahg picked this project up he's been focusing on the raw functionality of the bot, rather than quality-of-life focused extras. Because of this, you'll notice with each new version hes patching out a lot of bugs, a lot of things causing crashes, and a lot of issues that make the core of the bot (Gathering, grinding, or raiding) unusable or unstable. I'd be willing to bet that once he has the main foundation there and stable hes going to start working on the extra features that will support that. Things like corpse runs, teleporting, repairing, taking and completing repeatable quests, fate grinding, etc. Right now Reborn Buddy is a bot still in its infancy - the fact that it gathers and fights as well as it does at this early stage is frankly astounding. For now, your best bet is to check on your bot every couple of hours to make sure its not dead and its gear isn't broken, and to make gathering profiles that avoid hostile mobs or to simply let it run with stealth up constantly.
While I understand you thoughts my questions were mainly focused at a response from Mastahg as he is the only one to my knowledge with accurate answers. I will say however that many of the questions refer to core functions and not quality of life extras in my opinion. Currently there are many bots out for FFXIV that have all of these features and more but I choose to stick with this company due to my appreciation for the work they have done on other projects. To me interacting with npcs to repair or being able to revive and run back to a gathering location is a core feature as its already as the revive part is already in the grind bot if I recall correctly (dont quote me on that but I believe it is).
To my knowledge, reviving is not part of the grindbot. I haven't spent as much time with grindbro as I have with gatherbro, but the profile creation system is the same for each, and neither has a 'return to profile path' way-point feature. Regardless of whether you'd consider it a quality of life issue or core functionality, the other bots that you're referring to can indeed repair and revive, as well as all sorts of other nifty little things like grind FATEs. However, they have a monthly subscription fee, laughable communities, and generally turn out to be shoddier than anything with the -Buddy suffix attached. For 15 euro you get a lifetime key with the buddy products, and I'd give those features a few months tops until Mastahg has them in. To be honest, I'm floored that the buddy team has what they do already. For the first few years I played WoW I used Glider, which wasn't as robust as RebornBuddy is now even at the end of its life (after years of updates). Honorbuddy is truly incredible... and its also designed for a game that has been out for 10 years. FFXIV:ARR has been out for four months, cool your jets.
1-3: Not yet, but will be. q4: By default the bot will gather anything it can path to. Placing a blackspot on a node says "Don't gather me no matter what." If there any hotspots added to the profile, the bot will only be interested in nodes that are inside of hotspots. q5: It should be going after whatever is closest after you are done with the current one. You might be gathering in a strange area where the values are pretty close. q6: Try enabling mass meshing, this really should be on by default but I was conflicted about users being able to remove nodes, but now that you can easily remove them this might become the standard.
Just a quick reply to the OP. I can't help with the "releasing" part of it but have you considered starting the profile from the Aetherite? I havent fully used the bot yet but i intend to do that when i start making them.
