Hello, So, I've been a member of HB since 2011, never any issues. Now, out of the blue, I get this "authentication failed" on my key. Can you please tell me why? P.S The only habit that has changed is, I got another account and started using HB for it. Also, I am unable to access buddyauth from my network, but works fine on cellular, was I IP banned? If so, why? Thank you, xps45r
Interesting. Some random IDP coincidence then. Will just tunnel my traffic I guess until they fix it.
the other people need their own threads. as for the OP: are you sure the key your trying to use is the same one listed on the buddyauth website? are you sure theres no spaces before or after your key? if your sure, try flushing your dns Flush DNS - What's My DNS? reset your host file back to default. How to Reset Hosts File to Default in Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8? - Tweaking with Vishal and try power cycling your home router.
Log for Authentication failed. Hello, Nothing has changed. I used my key for 2 two hours, logged out, logged into another account, and I got the authentication failed. Period. Its not a DNS issue. Its not a hosts file issue. But for the sake of trying, I did both. Nada. I am still unable to access buddyauth nor my key. Thanks.
check if there is a looback adapter installed under network adapters and remove it also restore your windows hosts file
did everything, same thing.. my friend is currently using one of my keys ... so It's not a problem on my end.
Thanks Tony & CodenameG for the fast response. Everything works now, I'm able to get to the buddyauth site. Very strange that it would work perfectly fine, then randomly say authentication failed. You can close this thread now. xps45r
