When I attempt to open HB and it prompts me to update it, I click Accept. Itll get to Step 2 of 5 and then itll give me an error message saying the file is too big, or something like that and it just closes.

I have exact same problem, rename your old HB to ex Honorbuddy-old then make a fresh install with admin rights, dont change install directory, use were honorbuddy wants to install it, ohterwise HB wont be installed
Then you can just copy over your settings , plugins, rutines and bots to the new HB

I have done this on 4 updates now, maybe something corrupt in the installer saying that specified path or filename is to long.

      I use win 7 pro

      Hi, all,

First, make certain that Honorbuddy is always launched with Windoze admin privileges.

Otherwise, we know about this problem. It is HB-411 ("Updater should prompt to close all honorbuddy processes before starting update").

Please follow the work-around outlined by Jyrrga, or one similar.

      cheers,
      chinajade

My update was fixed when i ran honorbuddy as an administrator. Don't know if it'll fix it, but give it a try.

This isn't an error. Some of the files you've installed have names too long for Windows to modify. I run into this error every update, what I do is copy all the folders in the HBuddy folder into a backup, then delete the originals (You'll notice Windows tells you that some of the files have names too long for the recycle bin so you will be forced to permanently delete them), hence this issue. Once the update is complete I copy all my files back, making sure not to replace anything.

My guess is Calisuis profiles, but I haven't looked too deeply into it.

If you do this.. DO NOT put your files in the UpdaterBackup folder.. Unless you're trying to lose everything (like I just did).. FML
