I think some closed testers are very happy with this, but for us "normal people" it's still vaporware
Farmer Joe is still in development, and I'm working on it daily. But, it has become lower priority than some other projects I have at present. Given my limited time and numerous personal commitments development is progressing at a much slower rate than many would like. Rest assured this project will see the light of day, eventually.
Can you tell us what projects? Everything you've released so far has been very well built, so I'm curious about the project(s) that have priority now.
This should ALWAYS have higher priorites than anything else ... well, not the job thingy, but the others
PM me if you're still looking for two testers. We're RAF leveling and would love to try out Farmer Joe. Will donate as well
This is the perfect example for why I'm never gonna donate to unfinished projects. I feel bad for all the ppl who donated already, you guys got left in the dark.
Live and learn I guess... It was only 5 bucks... Can only hope that eventually it'll get released and my contributions helped... One can hope...
I've donated 20 bucks primarily for Farmer Joe a few months ago. Still hope it does see the light of day, seeing it was already working quite nicely back then. On the other hand, FPSWare has contributed more to the community than the upcoming Farmer Joe so it's mony well spent either way. But yeah, still hoping
A donation is just a way of thanking someone for their hard work. time and energy go into these things to help other people, so some sort of "pat on the back" is just the right thing to do.
Dude you seriously got the wrong idea of what a donation is. It is NOT a payment you receive anything back for. You support someone/something with it, without getting any privileges, special access or whatever. Even if he will never release the project because of whatever reason, there is no single way to argue that you had been left in the dark. God damnit.
Just to clarify. I haven't used his bot. I donated 5 bucks because it lokos promising and he's an active dev in this forum. Just hopefully I'll be able to mess around with it. Any other comments are people just butthurt about losing 20 bucks for a donation they GAVE to someone. It is called a donation....
Why are people donating without anything released? He clarified he wasn't asking for them but was gauging interest...it's here, the donations they get now or not don't matter.
You know, i'm not completely agree with you. I know a donation is not a payment, it's just a way to show support for someone's work. The thing is, none of us have tested this. So how can we donate for someone's work that we don't know? If i would donate to fpsware it would be for his combat routines, they we're great so i definitely have no problems with donating for his amazing work there. But here, i think it's a different story. However, i saw the video, and if it will work like that. Believe me, i won't have to considerate if i want do donate or not, it just will happen. Why? Because in that moment, i will appreciate and admire his work.
The main issue is, people are hesitant, apprehensive and skeptical when it comes to donating, the fact is, this project has only seen the light by internal beta testers, not a single public release. This is enough to deter people, understandably, people have not only donated left, right and center, they have donated to new accounts to get the author up and running, this I assume, was in the hopes that the author would indeed release a beta release to quench the masses, however, with no release in sight, this has left people even more apprehensive and hesitant, it may also, in the future, possibly affect his reputation, this is my opinion, not fact.
Please separate RAFBot and Farmer Joe, FJ has only ever been a question "Would you donate for this?" Not, donate and I'll write it. RAFBot however was "If enough people donate, I will return to WoW and release it, even though I feel it is not ready" Which we have seen, people are having shitloads of problems with RAFBot, due to the fact that it is still very much beta and not ready. Yes, I donated 25 bucks to get Fpsware back up and running, yes, I did betatest RAFBot, yes, I did use a lot of fps other RELEASED stuff for free, like lazyboxer. thats why I hated the thought of seeing that aparent talent in expanding Honrobuddy go to waste. It cost me 25 bucks, so what. Fps has NEVER demanded anything for his work!
Right and I donated to get BGBuddy simply to support Millz and not because I wished to PURCHASE an otherwise UNAVAILABLE PREMIUM SERVICE. This isn't the same deal obivously, nothing from fpsware was promised in return, but it is clear that fps can't say "donate and you're in beta" as it's against the rules, and he can't deal with everybody on a one to one basis, so I see where both sides come from. People feel that donating to devs is just a loophole/not actually "donating" but in this case it is, and with fpsware not having the forum ability to discuss it, everybody has to be left in the dark.
