go into the folder you installed HB to and use the launcher from inside the folder. You will most likely need to show it where the wow.exe file is! Have fun
im sorry, im so new to this and i dont really understand so theres a folder in the honor buddy folder called launcher?
Go into the folder you saved Honorbuddy. Make sure WoW is exited. Then open the file named "Honorbuddy.Launcher". Where it says "WoW Install Location" you should click there, then you'll come onto the WoW folder, then choose the file named "Wow.exe". Now click Launch when this is set up. Log onto WoW, and do not type in the HB-password before your character is in the gameworld. Now, does it work?
ok ive figured that much out so far.. but it not wanting to work, i keep getting that same box (picture) i posted originally.. :'( im at a stand-still.. i dont know if i should try to delete all of the honor buddy on my computer and start fresh and try it again.. or what to do.. *groan*
All right. I think I know what the problem is. When you open WoW, do you get the "Launcher" window? If you do, in the left upper corner, there is a "options"-tab. click it. Click the box next to "Launch 32-bit client", make it selected, then change the Graphics API to DX11, if not already done. Remember always run WoW in windowed mode! Try this.
all of the wow.exe stuff didnt work... sadly. but now im going to try the DX11 thing. it wasnt set to that. lets hope that works.. and its been set to windowed mode.. im crossing my fingers that this works!! eek!!
nope. sadly, none of them worked i think i really need to get that 64 to a 32 or whatever and i just cant figure out how to.. darnit.
if you use the new launcher, and if you want to play hearthstone for the new mount, it's probably a good idea to try the new launcher, before they enforce it. ie. Battle.net just open up the swirl at the top left corner, the "&&" symbol where it says "&&" "Games" "News" go to settings, game settings, tick the box for "launch 32 bit client (instead of 64 bit)" that's it. in game, you'll have to adjust the DirectX9/11 setting, but it should attach now. If you use the original launcher, you'll need to rename the file called wow-64.exe in the wow folder to not.wow.exe.bak or some other alteration. as you may be able to tell, the new launcher is a lot easier to set this.
thank you, toliman!! that worked! now i need to put everything into the new honorbuddy that i have *groan* lol... not looking forward to that part at all! i just want to relax! or take a nap! haha.. i dont really know how to enter everything (dungeons, quests, professions, etc.) into hb.. either.. boo hiss!
