A botting Account - Good or bad idea, why?

Hi fellow botters!

I've thought about making a new account to bot on, I'm currently botting on my main account which would be a pain in the ass to lose.
I mean, if im making a botting account only with that purpose and getting banned, would they ban my IP or? In that case, this whole idea would be wasted. Anyone who can give me some tips about the bans and what you think about this idea?

i was borrowed one of my freinds account and when i got banned on my own account he account also got banned.. for life time and i was botting on the same computer..

Buying a new account will definetly lower the chance of your main getting banned. But if you're gonna be transfering gold or items from your botting acc to your main, then your main is still in quite some risk. Even if you would not have any contact whatsoever between the 2 accounts, i would not consider your main account to be 100 % safe.

To sum up, i would consider buying a 2nd account a good idea. But always keep in mind thats there's still a risk for your main.
If you value your main too much, then you should not bot at all.

But isn't there a sneaky way to get away from the trading? I mean, gold sellers uses Auction house to transfer the gold, couldn't that be a way? I mean, there will always be a risk by ignoring Blizzards rules, but wouldn't there be a way to pass it? But thanks for the tip man!

 

Stuff like that will probably make it safer , but never 100 %

 

yeah it lowers the risk and as for transfering gold i suggest using guild bank or auction house items

 

Can you explain the guild bank and Auction house, im not quite sure how it works..

 

? I'm not quite sure how to explain to you other than you deposit guild in a guild bank, and then withdraw the deposited gold on your main. The auction house trick is basically the same thing: you create an auction for say 50,000 gold, and then you buy that auction on your main.

 

Aight.. I think i'll go for the Guild Bank as it sounds safer in my opinion

I recently just bought a 2nd account to use for botting only and hope to keep my main un-banned. We shall see... lol. But i plan on using a gbank and then having bot deposit into it and then i pull out of it on my main. I have heard from some people this is a safe way and others that its not safe. Im going to take my chance with my sale price of a 2nd account and see how much damage I can do.

The thing is, you bind your accounts together in the guild bank with members and such. But the same goes for the Auction house.. If i think about it, i would go for Guild bank, cuz it wont be visible to other players than yourself.. But good luck!

I just want to share with you and others what I'm doing to prevent a connection between these two accounts:

1: Im using my old laptop to prevent a connection between the accounts.
2: Bought new account and made a new char.
3: Thinking about encrypting my IP, so they wont have the same IP-adress, this is for protecting my main account in case of an IP-ban.

Has anyone ever just bought an Amazon Workspace for $35 a month and just bot the wheels off that for like 2 months? It would keep your main accounts safe since nothings running on your machine.

 

will that work? anyone who has any information about that?

 

*UPDATE* Got banned on 2'nd account today, 72 hours using GB2 farming mining nodes.. But luckily, my main account is still here tho i made a bank guild between the 2 accounts and i traded some stuff, but i did do some whispers so they might be confused, and it worked it seems ..

 

That was fast... you gotta be more carefull with gatherbuddy - especially public profiles.

 

I maybe wrong but is it not you make a auction for 50,000 gold on your main and you buy on your botting account (I think botting account is the one with money)

Well, I was quite un-sure about the difference between Gatherbuddy and ProfessionBuddy, can you explain? And i used a public profile, which mined somewhere around Valley of the Four winds.. It might have been stupid, but before i went to this profile, i was using Honorbuddy's professionbuddy to mine in Jade Forest - But yeah, thanks for you reply, i hope you'll explain the difference .. But im for sure, not going for the Gatherbuddy again!

 

I had a 5 man group once - basicly you have 2 farmers, 2 shufflers and an auctioneer. You use professionBuddy for the shuffling ( turning raw mats into more valuable stuff ) and Gatherbuddy for the farming of the raw mats. Personally I disliked this method because you have to be very carefull - you can't recklessly farm raw mats for 6 hours straight, at most it's 1-2 hours WITH supervision and plenty of breaks. Using a public profile will make you gather the same route as others. as hypocrite it may seem - other botters may report you aswell since you're taking the same nodes, therefor it's usefull to make your own.

I went to instancefarming, not having that much less gold production - steady 10k per bot per day. but this is very ban heavy so you just gotta replace the banned accounts and keep on rolling.
