Mistake #1 - using a public profile that THOUSANDS of other people could be using. I'm confused by the last line... your thread title says banned, but you mention a suspension. Never ever EVER try to appeal a 72 hour. Suck it up, buttercup, and enjoy your 3 day break from WoW.
You're the first to mention not to appeal. Everyone's saying to appeal otherwise it makes you look guilty. I did but it was unsuccessful... Suspension is a temp ban is it not?
Yes, suspension is usually for a few days. From what I've read, suspensions are mostly handed out on an autoban basis (this is pure speculation). If you appeal, it's possible that a GM will personally investigate your case and find that you truly were botting, thus dropping the perma-ban hammer. Essentially you are guilty, but as the famous quote says, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Can you paste a copy of the email you received from Blizz? Make sure you remove personal info, of course.
Imo the honorbuddy is very dangerous to use. Too many players are using it, and the old geather profiles aren't safe at all too.
Then don't use it. No one is forcing you to use the software. Most of us who use it accept the fact that what we're doing can and likely will result in a ban. It's the chance we take as botters.
no use appealing a 72h ban. 99% of bans are scripted bans, if you appeal a gm will actually look at your account wich means there is a chance you will lose other accounts on that ip/lose guilds/get perma instead of 72h just wait it out, and bot again. you will lose the account but thats the nature of botting
Because many people are lazy and won't bother to learn how to do it. I've been running GB2 with my own herb/mining profile for around 12 hours per day for the last few days and I've had no issues whatsoever, yet you'll see many posts from people saying that there are autobans and all sorts of triggers that flag you. Yes, my time might come on the farm account, but I've been letting it run and so far so good.
