Is it possible to turn a nice profit on botting PoE? I have botted WoW and D3 in the past with a nice profit.
im afarid you are quite late to the party..... there is still money to be made, however its alot less than before, also ban rates are retarded atm...GGG going crazy
It's possible. Sadly GGG is on the balls with bans and changes to their client to make botting harder, so you will need to invest more time into setting up your bots and chars than most other games. I got my main account that's been 100% manually played at level 97 in ambush banned just by RMTing (that account had no connection with my bot accounts, I never transfered items to it or anything - my bots are all on different IPs and MAC iid's) and i've had several bots accounts banned already.
5 ex for a char that can farm 5 ex a day, that is pretty good. How long would it take to level and prepare a char to farm?
There are far less players in PoE than in D3, hence the demand for currency remains relatively constant, while amount of botters is constantly increasing - there are a lot of people like OP, who botted D3 and have been hooked on "easy money". With all the people storming in from D3 to bot PoE soon there will be nothing to do at all. Just two weeks after start of new Ambush league in March and bulk ex price was already at ~2-2.5$. By comparison in the previous softcore league (Domination) after two MONTHS the price has been well above 3$. Now that was back in early March when D3 RMAH wasn't yet closed (until 18th). I can only imagine what will happen in August, when all these former D3/WoW botters will jump on PoE.
1 ex is super easy to get though. you usually make atleast 5 per client in a day if you're botting correctly (this is running a bot that just picks up currency and focuses on leveling empowers) - even in standard i get quite much from botting, and i'm selling my currency to resellers which usually takes 50% of the price that they're actually worth.
My point was that in previous leagues, when D3 RMAH was as still on, the price was stable unlike now. And i don't really care if you make 1 ex per day or 2. I was trying to say that increased amount of botters does not automatically lead to increased amount of players, who are ready and willing to buy PoE currency. Increased amount of botters only leads to devaluation of currency. And after closure of D3 RMAH it's not just "increase" it's a tidal wave. This is the reason why GGG is in ban-rage mode and why PoE currency fell in value so quickly. tl;dr special for you - be prepared to not get "quite much" See comments on the previous page. Quick levelling + F2P = bans don't matter that much anymore. Just level more free accounts, right? Unless people are going to receive ban few minutes after launching the bot. We're not too far away from this point actually. It's not WoW or D3 where ban would lead to additional expenses, unless you have stocked up some cheap game keys. In PoE it's pure profit (beside of time and electricity). Even if GGG will ban 9 accounts out of 10 - one is still alive and making profit. More swarms of former D3 botters creating dozens of accounts every month + more arrogant boasting about great profits on public forums = more complains from legit players and GGG will be forced to implement even harsher measures than now.
