Does anyone know what the best thing to do is when you fail to reply to a whisper asking you if you're there etc, what do YOU do? As far as I know there's no way to tell if they bothered reporting you or not.

I had an add-on setup to turn wow's sound on for 10 seconds whenever I receive a whisper so I don't have to keep checking it. But something went wrong and I ended up missing it. They said something like "hey (namehere) are you there?" didn't know them, random person. I'm assuming if they asked me something like that then they were probably watching me and noticed something funny looking going on with the bot.

      So do you:

      1) Cut back on the botting
      2) Bot a different character
      3) Play normally or not at all
      4) Continue as normal and change nothing

      Thanks! :)

Hmm, what do gold sellers whisper you for? I've never had one whisper me before. I wish I knew if they saw me or not. If they didn't see me and was whispering me from the /who list or something then I know it's something unrelated. If they saw me then I know they're checking to see if I'm botting, I mean if they can see me running about then it's obvious I'm there, so they'd only ask that question to check for bots. It's what GM's ask you before they ban you too.

I just don't know if it's a good idea to ignore it or not. It worries me that this only happened 6 hours after getting the bot setup too, could be on a quick road to a ban even though I was careful. I dunno, do you guys keep going when stuff like this happens?

I'm probably just being paranoid.

I used to get these all the time, but Badboy shuts them down, and I don't even see them any more.

The whispers always ask "are you there" by your toon name. I don't know why they all seem to follow that pattern. If you answer them, they will respond with:
      • "We have 270000 excess gold in our vaults, would you be interested in buying any" (gold sellers), or
      • "I just want to chat" (phishers, trying to find out you WoW account details. Sometimes, they'll even try to take you out of the game, or ask for your MSN or something--on the surprisingly high probability that you used the same WoW game login as your MSN)

In either case, I don't want to have to deal with them--bot or not. Thus, Badboy.

      cheers,
      CJ
