So I just bought an HB subscription for the first time yesterday, not knowing about this whole tripwire deal. Since I'm new here, I would like a bit of advice. I only want to use HB for combat (Tyrael & TuanHA Death Knight). However, after reading today's announcement about the whole 30 days... I'm a bit skeptical on running the bot. If I did, I wouldn't leave my PC at all while using it and I would be doing the movement myself, so basically I would just have the bot do the attacking. I just can't afford to get my account banned, as it's pretty valuable, and even has the swift spectral tiger. So, should I wait out the 30 days until we get an update from the forums here or go ahead and run just Tyrael & TuanHA Death Knight for raiding?
You care this much about your account you should not be botting at all, having said that you should wait since you care so much. Does not matter if you do 99.9% of the actions if you have HB running and they find it your gone lol. Most of us bot for the thrill though so its really up to you.
You should never bot an account you can't afford to lose. Especially now. As they have said, this is the first major change to Warden that is making them nervous in over 3 years. Could be nothing, but you need to weigh your options here. Even if you bot now, you might not be immediately banned. They might flag your account for days or weeks. You just don't know. Don't expect to get any inside information from any reply here until the developers release something in the coming weeks. Sorry, I know it's not what you're looking for but I hope that helps.
You should wait, if you say the account is valuable too you (achievement wise and time) you are probably emotionally invested.
Valuable account = Stop botting right now You've missed your chance, you have chosen the wrong moment to start with this, AND YOU HAVE HAD YEARS! haha! Anyways, if you really want to bot, just buy a new account and bot there, as people with common sense do. If you bot just to play a class, don't fucking play the game. I mean, i find it weird... i bot for ores, proffesions, leveling... but a bot will never play better than me...
If the account is valuable to you, do not Bot at all. Given the latest Warden update I would really recommend waiting for a future Official update before making the decision to Bot or not. The other side of the coin is this, if the account gets Banned (first time) there is a pretty decent chance given the history of things that you can get it reduced to a 72hr suspension (slap on the hand) and continue on. If for some reason they hard line you and uphold the Ban all is not lost. Your achievements and Mounts ect. are tied to your Battle.net account and as such you could always create a new WoW2 on that B.net and have all of the mounts and achievements as before. Keep in mind that you would need to lvl new toons, and anything that was "in progress" achievement wise would be lost, as well as all faction reps ect.
Wait so if my main WoW1 got permabanned, and I purchased a new WoW key for a WoW2 on the same bnet account, my mounts would automatically be on the WoW2 account?
Ah I see... but if my WoW2 was merged with my main WoW1 account and my WoW1 account got permabanned, wouldn't they permaban my WoW2 account as well since it's on the same bnet account?
I have never had a non-botted account banned which was on the same bnet account as my farmers when they got banned, but these were automated script bans. If a GM investigates the situation he may decide to ban both the accounts, it really just depends on the GM I guess. (and the activities you are involved in, but tyrael/lazy raider I dont think will cause a problem for both the accounts)
That's all I'd really use the bot for on my main anyways (If I decide to do so) is Tyrael and TuanHA routines. Although, should I merge an account before using the bot on my main? Or would I still be able to merge an account if my main was permabanned?
You can merge wow accounts onto a battle.net account regardless of the status of the other accounts on there. You can have 8 wow accounts on the 1 battle.net account
Would it be better to merge the account before using the bot on one of them, or merge if my main account was to get permabanned for botting?
I would keep them separate unless you want access to the mounts and pets, but it's not worth the added risk in my opinion
