Ok so I looked up on google on how to change IP Address and even my MAC Address. But when I try to create an account on PoE it still doesn't work . Even deleted my cookies and used new email (not same as previous tries). Am I doing something wrong? What did I miss? Thank you
Change IP on router and Change the Mac address on the router, you might also have to change the mac address on the PC as well.
Oh I've only changed the MAC and IP of my PC, I'll try to find out how to do the same with the router also. Thanks
Go into your router settings ( 192.168.0.1 in address bar for most routers) Log into your admin account Go to Wan settings - Mac address - hit clone mac address - after cloning the characters will show up in an editable field on the page. Change the last 2 letters/numbers to somethings else and hit accept. Your internet will kick out for a minute.
Changing Mac address of the router is a little paranoid. For GGG to get that information they would need to do an ARP request or similar from the PC running PoE. It is possible that GGG are reading the Mac address of the PC and sending to their servers via an in game channel... I think this is unlikely because it would violate privacy laws in New Zealand as the game would be acting like spyware. But changing your internet facing, routable, IP address is the simplest, if possible, way to avoid the IP ban. The other way is to utilize a virtual private netw0rk (basically, using another ISP) I have been banned a great number of times in PoE, in the early days of EB, and I get back up and running quickly as I use virtual machine 'golden image' that I spin up new machine instances of and configure each with a separate virtual private netw0rk. From GGG's point of view these are separate computers running from different parts of the world. WIMM
He was telling OP to change his modem's MAC address because many times the IP assigned by your ISP is determined by that. So changing the MAC that your ISP sees will cause it to drop you then give you a new IP(This isn't 100% across all ISPs.)
HI,Can you tell me how to run POE on a virtual machine? I tried to install a virtual machine, install the game, but can not run POE.
I use VMWare workstation, suggest version 7.1.3 because the more recent versions have a flickering grahics problem (display has white flashes which makes it unbearable to watch after a few minutes... apparently turning on the latency/fps monitoring, with F1, in game fixes it from some but not for me). *But* I am looking to stop with VMWare and go with Sandboxie because the performance from VMWare is not so great. Sandboxie as per this thread: https://www.thebuddyforum.com/exilebuddy-forum/159589-exilebuddy-sandboxie.html >I tried to install a virtual machine, install the game, but can not run POE. Suggest opening a new support thread and detail what you are using for a VM and what the error is. WIMM
I haven't come across an IP ban with my new ISP. If I do I might be screwed as my ISP is a dynamic IP unfortunately and I don't want to pay for ***
there are alot of free v.p:n services with 1000s of ips to log on and alot of them have not been banned yet i use a few on my alt accounts just for RMT thats it but beware b/c they are free alot of people prob useing them to bot aswell so if they get banned so will you in my opinion if you dont wanna get banned cause of other peoples dumb mistakes buy a V.P:N service
I tried changing Router's MAC Address as well as its IP, thus changing my IP connection too. And it still says that I am IP banned
Use ipchicken.com to check your IP. Then try changing it again, then check ipchicken to see if it has changed. If that doesn't work here are the top 3 things to try next (not an exclusive list): 1) Call your ISP, state that you are receiving a DDOS or IP ban or.. whatever excuse or reason you want and ask that the IP be changed, and how to do that for yourself next time. 2) Email PoE and state that your IP is banned, do not know why, state you use a dynamically assigned IP. Suggest using an email address not associated with any accounts and state that you have not played Poe before and was just wanting to try it. 3) Buy a Virtual Private Network account, there are plenty of providers, google is your friend. Free ones won't help you unless you have time to waste. WIMM
