Banned today, Arelog's fault :/

3)If so, when was the last time?: Thursday

4)What profile were you using?: VoT4W Mining and Herbs, slightly modified

5)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname: TuanHA Druid

6)What plugins are you using?: Gatherbuddy Helper

7)How many hours per day did you bot for?: No more than 3-4hrs every couple of days, but different this time (read on)

8)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot? In the 3-4 hrs I usually bot, 0%. All AFK.

9)How many auctions per day did you have?: no more than 100

10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods? No

11)Was your account involved in gold selling? No.

12)EU or US realm? EU Magtheridon

13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account? Paid acct, used 6 months ago for RAF


So this is the story: thursday evening before bed I thought to put my 2nd acct (druid gatherer, quite a bit of PvP done, to not make it seem "just a gather-bot") to farm some ores.
I set the scheduling on Arelog for 3 hours, put a couple profiles in , start and go to bed.

Next morning I woke up, find Arelog with a bunch of .NET errors on, the account still running and...well, basically I botted for 9 hrs straight. something like 1.600 ore nodes, 1.400 herbs and so on.
I disconnected and didn't play the character anymore.
I didn't even put anything on AH: didn't have the time, even to put on a little quantity.
Saturday afternoon: ban email.

I tried to bullshit an appeal... I'll let you know.

 

The ban is not Arelog's fault, Arelog did not force you to use your bot unsupervised. There are many warnings all over the site saying not to do that.

 

Ok, Sorry... Don't take me literally: it's obviously my fault, but the occasion was Arelog's error.
Just a cautionary tale for ppl

 

It was blizzards fault you got banned, since they banned you you should complain to them

Update: bullshitting worked. Permanent ban transformed to 72hrs.
I'll be more careful from now on

 

Standard for a first time gathering-related permaban.

You could use a backup plugin like LogMeOut! to make sure the toon stops gathering after a certain amount of time. Plus GB2 has a built-in timer to stop after a number of hours. So technically it's still not ARelog's fault

The bastards have perma banned me from the forums but they let me bot ALOT as long as I pay them $15 a month per account.

Perma ban to 72h is standard practice even if you sent an empty email.

Only for casual botters tbh. If you go all out and bot with 5-10 accounts, you aint going to get that 72h overturned. Tried it countless times, never works.

 

So basically if I've botted 5 hours a day for a month, and get perma'd they would knock it down to a 72 hour?

Last time ive got banned I was working on pc so I sent email like 5mins after ban with something like "omgwtfbbq,blizz pls unban,I was playing manually kthxbai" and they emailed me back with something like " lol automated ban,sry our fault,enjoy wow again"
