HB and Warden after 6.02

Hello,

Excuse my paranoia, but I can't help but wonder. Has HB been tested against warden 100% for this prepatch? (and will it be for WoD after HB update)? Can you guarantee there is no chance of getting banned just for logging the bot? (I am NOT talking about the luck/stupidity of botting, that's my own responsibility.) I am simply wondering if there is the slightest chance HB can be detected at this early point.

Iam also paranoid so I stopt using the bot for a moment.

 

It is my experience that they always make certain that it is safe to use before they publish new versions of HB. In the past, they have taken steps to ensure that unless they know it's safe you will not be able to bot. ON THE OTHER HAND, by using third party software with world of warcraft you should always be prepared to lose your account. Never bot on an account that you are not ready to lose.

 

If HB isnt safe devs dont release test version dude. They care.

 

HB isn't released until it has been checked against Warden.

Also Warden isn't really intended to catch things like HB. It is intended for detection of hacks and exploits that they can ban outright. HB is detected primarily using in-game heuristics.

 

I want to make two comments in response to your question:
First, HB devs have been doing this for years, so HB has a history of being the safest WoW bot you can use.
Second, nobody is perfect.
Conclusion, if you cannot stand to lose your account then do not bot with it.

I have multiple accounts with over 30 level 90's scattered across various servers. I have never lost an account, but if I did I would do what most of the other botters do. I would simply report it in the ban section, start over, and not complain about it.

Regards to the release of a new patch, really it's up to you to get over your fears or realise there were no guarantees.

For future reference, you can make a *killing* by stockpiling for times like this then craft / shuffle / sell by hand. On my realm inscription supplies are up 10 x, ores 4x and everything else at least twice normal value. It sure feels better than worrying about Warden.

Can warden detect honorbuddy?
Probably.

Is it detected as of right now?
Probably not as it has gone through test stages before getting released.

Can you guarantee 100% security against Warden?
When you cheat in a online game, you're never guaranteed 100% security.

 

Since the mass Ban in Gatherbuddy a few years Back i never got Banned again so i think they learned the lesson then to make sure we are quite safe (its never 100%)

 

That was the reason that i wrote gatherbuddy there was no HB then! it was a bannwave because GB used the same offsets as some Cheating tool and we got hit then! it was a long time ago

 

i hooked up gatherbuddy last night to farm old herbs just to keep up with the demand. gold rolling so fast i can afford to lose a few accounts.

 

I've never seen honorbuddys tripwire and probably never will, that being said i've seen various others and its possible to sneak things past tripwire systems. Just a silly simplistic example would be tripwire on warden and simply adding a function to the main client itself or updating both at the same time as a means of distraction from the real threat. Just saying.

 

Im SUPER paranoid so ill be waiting about 2 weeks to a month before I bot again just to make sure everything is cool. Ill be sitting in the dark, watching, waiting.

There has been one banwave for Honorbuddy products, long long long time ago right after glider. HB was hit by a Lua detection that wasn't even meant for HB, but everyone got banned. Somethign along those lines. But since then i havent seen an actual ban wave, or one that HB actually admits to be a banwave.

 

i've been botting on my main account since cata and i never got warned neither banned !
always stay safe, and don't obsess botting 24/7, and keep monitoring the bot whenever u leave it automated

And for the people facepalming all over, this was not a question about me botting too much, being reported etc. It was purely about how detectable HB is, putting aside other factors.

This is exactly why we do not like people that push the development team to release new version. Safety is of the first priority.
