As I just started botting, I'm babysitting my character 95% of the time. I'm leery about how he acts around any other players. I was curious, can a GM be invisible while watching you, would anyone know?

Edit- I suppose there's "stealth" in the game, so there's my answer

A bit pointless question, isn't it?

What makes you think he would even need to be in the game ? He could just as well just mirror your screen ?

For the record tho, yes, they can be invisible, they can be there, they can transform you to a huge elephant, they are Game Masters ? :s

If a GM is in the game world, they are invisible 99% of the time. In 10 years of wow I have only seen a visible (blue robe) GM once (after reporting an under-the-world mining char in wintergrasp :)

GMs don't use stealth. They use God Mode...yes...veritable GM mode ;) They do not use the same client as normals. They are above stealth detection, if they choose so, period. But as has been stated it has been a while since GMs have had some fun in the game :(

We should change the topic to "when do you think you are most at risk of being banned?"

Seems like leveling up to 90 is going through the gauntlet.

1-60 currently seems to be the worst.

I saw one back in WotLK when we were going for Anub'arak HC 25 man.

He staid near the raid (hovering in the air) and cheered at us. The encounter was crazy hard before the nerf.

Stopped using HB for the moment, sure you can get it to work but i'd rather just wait for everything to up to date with HB itself as well as HB being stable :p
Too much headache, should be a lot smoother the 2nd week of wod :)

Hmm, I'm thinking it might be better to level some toons manually and maybe use RaF, but I'm worried that technique would be watched by blizzard, with the risk of getting everything banned.

Why would they stalk poor guy? They can ban your ass anytime they feel like.

yeh, i still use a public profile for mega northrend, but every other gather profile is custom and a closely held secret.

I don't want to toot my own horn. But I have been on a GM account on live servers. Their normal hang out spot is what i call "The Box". Its a white walled box with a beam of light coming down on a little chair in the middle. Most of the time GM's wont ever come out from "Invisible", but if they do its to fix something that's going incredibly wrong in game. Like the time retards got their big ass mounts in shatt and blocked the portals.. Ahhh good times :p.

Reading the WoW forums it seems like GM's used to be more sticklers of the rules, now, not as much. I wonder if the higher-ups secretly like having botters around (So long as they are not doing anything out-right dumb), since they are the ones who invest in 5+ accounts.

      Yes, GM's can stealth.

Mind you as i have tested and witnessed it twice, they more often than not will do a small teleport on you, putting you about 100yards from where you were, then see how you react. Some of the more LAZY ones in the past have ported me to the GM isle house, and last but not least...my all time fav GM. -- "Hello, i am GM ????? (forgot his name), gave me some role playing words and ended with, Do you like pancakes?" - "who doesnt love a good blueberry pancake?" "=D have a great day"

Oh, and sometimes in the first downs of bosses and during progression times you'll be able to see some GM's destealth and watch your raids. Its pretty neat sometimes, most people dont notice it till 1 person calls it out over comms.
