I did some searching, didn't quite get the answer I wanted. I am just curious and of the opinion that if you have multiple WoWs attached to 1 B.net account, say a main and a bot account (that gathers/farms gold), and you get reported/banned on the bot account you keep your main. I RAFd a friend, and he attached it to his main bnet account, and he is going to bot said account, but not bot on his main. Has anyone had the experience of losing ALL WoW accounts on a B.Net Acct for only 1 of them botting?
Somewhere during the middle mists I lost a few accounts, like what you mentioned, in a ban wave. Not all of them on the account were banned, at first, however after a few days the one that escaped got the hammer out of relevance. I was able to get the ban lifted on 2 of them. Assuming it isn't a wave, there is generally NO reason bots should be banned without player involvement. If there is player involvement, you're deserving of it the hammer because you did something stupid.
I've had few times where my 'fun' account ( no botting or selling gold ) was banned due the fact of being in my botting guild.. it's rare, but it can happen - ofcourse I appealed and got unbanned but still.
Thanks for the info, seems like apart from rare cases it doesn't happen as I imagined. Banwave aside of course, and even then I assume if you never load the "detected" bot to the account that is detected through some sort of software it should be fine. I've been botting on and off for the last 4 years. Stopped it cuz i lost like 20 accounts to gathering over season 2 in MoP and gave up.
I had 2 account banned for the first time ever in MOP gathering, but that's because one guy made an amazing profile for the entire continent lol. I still have 4 accounts botting on that same battle.net, going strong
LOL, some of these questions are asked over and over again. Perhaps we should assign qa number to the answer and then post it when the question comes up. Like number 10 for this one. LOL
I actually do this ... and refer to previous posts as that some of our community is very inept with the search feature.
