*To moderator: This is my first thread...attempting to post in the correct location. Teamviewer can be a very powerful free tool to monitor your bots anywhere at anytime. Most people are aware that teamviewer software can be installed on any number of computers that you own, and this can be used to remote control or file transfer from other consoles. What many do not know is that teamviewer offers a smartphone google play app (probably an apple store equivalent as well) that can also remote access your computers. This as well is free and a very well maintained app. It allows nearly full access over the computer, from your smart phone! I use it for but certainly not limiting it to: Checking the bots - Making sure they are functioning properly and not spazzing out in the middle of trade district Sending Messages - This could make the difference between being reported by a player or playing it off . Responding to wow chat messages is as easy as typing on your phone. Access Everything on your computer: Namely honorbuddy - Switch profiles, pause, start, change settings Piece of mind: I'm an anxious soul, and just the fact that in under 30 seconds I can view my bot, the logs, and even stop/start while on vacation across the country brings me piece of mind. Although this will help in the pursuit of, it is certainly not a foolproof method for 100% afk botting, but it is a powerful free tool nonetheless. Teamviewer is 100% free for personal uses. They ask that if you start using it for commercial purposes that you pay for premium. Which I highly recommend, help them keep providing us with great software! I did not thoroughly sift through all the archives and there may have been a post on this before. Also I do not mean to undermine any community developers pursuing their own solutions and programs in this area. I am simply a very new buddy - hoping to contribute to the community.
Teamviewer is pretty well known, not something that has it's own dedicated thread but is often mentioned. Agreed, very useful tool, I use LogMeIn personally but only because I have a license for other purposes. By the way, you are looking for Peace of Mind, not Piece; Piece of mind is a great Iron Maiden album though.
Teamviewer is a great tool, however without a decent internet connection it can be a nightmare. When at work i can check on the bot, but actually functioning anything is a pain in the ass. Nice informative post for those who have not heard of Teamviewer (although i suspect many here have).
If you want a great tool you should use AnyDesk and not TeamViewer, trust me, once you try it you will never use TeamViewer again.
Hi, Nice to see a first post, welcome! Though most people here are well aware of TeamViewer it's nice to remind newer folk. Dialling into TeamViewer on the train commuting to work via 3g I was often surprised at the quality -it was good enough -but perhaps AnyDesk is a more modern equivalent. Without TeamViewer I would never have have left my bots AFK to go to the gym, shopping, work etc. Certainly I'd recommend an automated logger/relogger with TeamViewer setups, it works wonders, I used to use HBRelog to great effect. The smartphone app for TeamViewer likewise is pretty simple and 'just plain works'. After some searching I can see that AnyDesk looks very slick compared to TeamViewer, perhaps a worthy alternative. ~G EDIT: What I always wanted was a method to *power on* my desktop remotely... I understand it's possible but I never got around to it myself. Don't want to hijack a thread, but any suggestions for simple app to do it? EDIT2: I guess this page has a pretty good Wake on LAN method and ties into TeamViewer, just a shame I no longer bot AFK as much as I did! +Rep for mentioning Piece of Mind, lol
Indeed, anydesk is better. I like VNC though since I just use it on my own LAN and havent checked into using AnyDesk that way. I dont want the signal to run out to the web and then back again.
There is no ipad/iphone version for anydesk yet, right? A year ago i was using Splashtop, Teamviewer was way too slow to monitor bot from abroad. I don't know if it has improved since.
