So I'm in a super tiny guild made almost entirely of RL friends. When I first was convinced to buy WoW by our GM I was told about the evils of botting and gold buying and how they ruin servers. When I started botting I didn't have any problems because almost no one was on (taking a break for cataclysm) but now everyone is renewing thier accounts. So how should I tell them? I can't believe I havn't been caught yet, but one guildie said "yeah I saw you on the other day at 4AM, that's dedication to Wow" lol SO I imagine it's only a matter of time before I'm wispered and can't respond. -Signed socially inept in Azeroth
Step 1.) Purchase a new WoW account separate from your current bnet account. Step 2.) Level a character to the level cap and begin your botting on that character. Step 3.) ??? Step 4.) Profit!
I just told to my guild I'M A BIG FAT BOT!!! lol and they say well just don't leave us or we report you haha (im the best heal and top 3 dps)
I believe that's called BadBoy's Super Anti-Spam, or something similar to that. http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/bad-boy.aspx is the addon link, if I'm not mistaken. There are other "Bad Boy" addons on curse as well. I suggest browsing them.
IMHO, its always a mistake to tell anyone--even close RL friends--that you bot. If your friend gets mad, they may do something that you (and later they) will regret with the information you've given them. In my case, I have many friends that have no common sense whatsoever, or just can't keep a secret. Any way you go, its bad news. So low key is best IMHO. cheers, CJ
its always a mistake to tell anyone you're botting, unless your friends are also botting (so they dont report u) b/c thats ez to get blackmailed. Unless you really trust people
My RL friends love that I bot, always get best possible tanking/dps/healing when i run with them. Don't worry about your guildies, they should be happy to have you along. G
My GM's and officers know that I bot, but no one talks about. I provide fish and cheap mats / goods and everyone's happy. The guildies ask where I get it from... and I tell them none of their bsns
As a regular exploiter of games, i didn't even have to tell the original 2 people i started to play wow, i was on for like 12 hours n they were like "oh u got a bot already?" im like "yuh" I can gurantee the people i sell goods to probably know that i bot but dont mind.
I cut a deal with my buddy, i will bot ur account and you pay for my subscription. then end the end i found out he used to use honorbuddy X_X
I will just add to what has really already been said. The GM and officers in my guild know I bot and I provide mats and consumables for the guild for raids and such. Not to mention I am generous with the cash for peeps needing money for riding and such.
Never tell anyone you bot, you don't know how people will take it, even your RL friends may not take it well. My guild is full or RL friends, I provide them with herbs, ore, fish, meat, gold etc... I'm sure they suspect I bot, we've never openly discussed. But as long as they don't ask I don't tell.
