Hi, I'm sorry this is not a typical ban report and I was not sure where to write it.

I've been worrying a lot these days so I'll tell you my story and tell me what do you think. So I restarted to play WoW 1 month before the WoD release. I've already botted before and still do in WoD. But since the last week, something make me feel very insecure about botting since I don't supervise a lot my botting sessions (PS: I am willing to bot under the risk of ban, don't remind me please, it is not about it)

So it started last Tuesday or Wednesday, I was near my computer when it happened, I was using DungeonBuddy to level up a new character and I received a party invitation from a guy named something like *blizzardgm#* with some random numbers. Obviously at first, I thought it was a scam but my curiosity told me to accept the invite anyway, so I accepted and then said the usual greetings, but no answer. After 30 sec, he kicked me from the party and sent me a real ID invitation, his name was like *blizzardgm#*. I declined and blocked the user. I could not see the official blizzard logo or anything so I thought he was just a perfect scammer, and forgot about it.

Lately, the same thing happened to me again, guy named *blizzardgm#* (with random numbers) invited me, but also invited someone from my realm that I didn't know, he seemed surprised too. Again, no answer, got kicked and a real ID invitation.

So I've been thinking that maybe it is a way that blizzard found to check the user activity. If a user accept or decline the invite, that means the user is playing. If no answer, the user is not playing (so botting) or just not answering.
Or am I completely over-reacting? But you have to admit that this is quite unusual.

So here are my actual questions:
1- Do you think they were scammers? For some reason, I can not confirm if they were real blizzard GM.
2- Do you think I should accept real ID invite and try to talk to them?
3- Do this situation happened to you before (or right now)?
4- What if they tested me the same way when I was away? I may have missed those, and can not help myself.
5- Should I take this as a warning, since I am not banned at the moment?

Right now, I'm taking a break from botting because I am not banned (yet) and only have one account.
I usually bot for: GatherBuddy, ArchaeologyBuddy, Questing and DungeonBuddy.

I would appreciate any constructive comments. Thank you for your time! :)

The one on my server was actually called "Bllzzardgme", you notice the second "L" instead of an "i" though the human eye is just so used to the next character being an "i" you just over-read it. For me it was just scam ;)
Are you even sure it was really a guy with that exact name? Can you even create a character on a server with "Blizzard" in it? Let me know ;)

Yeah, I can not remember the exact character name, maybe you are right.
About the real ID, the last invitation I received (still have it pending) was *GM106#* with the 4 random numbers after. So we should conclude that they are just scammers??
Man, what kind of people do that ....

No, real GMs have the blue Blizz logo in front of their names that can't be faked. These are just scammers, telling you in broken English that you have won a spectral tiger or you have a "plugin board" and demand to enter all your account info at a site like wowbattle.net. Just ignore them.

The only sign you'll ever get of a real GM investigating your account is a permanent ban.

Something going on here though, I had the same about 6 times today. Some level 1 warrior called Blizzardgm(something) invited me to a party at least 6 times tonight and did the same to other players. Wouldn't say a word and kicked everyone after a few minutes every time. No realid invites though. Guess its a scam indeed. Just a very bad one

The implications of that are concerning. If this is not Blizzard GMs, then someone is specifically targeting HBuddy users.. My question is how are they capable of that? The most logical theory I could come up with is that HB is selling user's info to gold farmers, as to allow them to identify other farmers and report them to blizz, but that's a pretty heavy accusation so it remains only a theory.

Thank you guys for your comments, I really appreciate it. Good to see that this is not to take seriously.

Reading the comments up there, I felt the exact same way.

I read the forums, many people seem to have the same problem (like mine) over and over again. It also seems very recent. I am guessing that there is nothing we can do but block and report those threats.

Those guys are no GM's and they spam the invites to everyone, not targeting HB users specially. Its just a scam, ignore it. Of course DO NOT log on at their site:)

I was getting friend invites from someone named GM2016 or something like that a few weeks ago. I ignored it and not banned yet.

Scammers just contact blizzard support and they will likely tell you the same.
