Do NOT bot.

It's a well known bit of information that Warden (Blizzard's anti-cheat tool) can see your processes at any given time. Normally I wouldn't jump to belittling someone in your situation, but honestly it sounds like you jumped into this uneducated and not researching beforehand. One of the best tips I was told was to rename the folder HonorBuddy resides in on your computer, rename the .exe file to something less conspicuous (steamwrapper.exe for example), and don't run the bot for longer than you would normally play for.

If you normally play for 3 to 4 hours a day, but you run the bot for 8 to 10 hours while you're asleep then to Blizzard it looks like you played a lot on that day. If the 8 to 10 hours are BG farming for example then to Warden it would log all your movement as being very similar in each BG if not exactly the same in each one. Then the 3 to 4 hours would be dynamic movement, objectives like flags and points, etc. If you really think about it Warden doesn't have to look that hard to find the botters.

It's all about how smart you are using the tool. In this case you weren't very smart with it. No need to argue with people online, just admit your error and move on. Be smarter about it on your next account and good luck.

Pretty obvious you're a moron. I gave him ideas for avoiding the ban and stated the obvious. I thought it was common knowledge how Warden worked and how to avoid it as I learned all that from the forums. I guess the user base back then was just less immature.

There is a difference between made up and speculation. Nobody knows how Warden works except the people that work at Blizzard. I'm not posting here because I've ever been banned for botting. The exact opposite actually. I'm trying to share how I avoided being banned but I can see that the basement dwelling trolls and ignorants are out in full force tonight so I won't bother sharing any more information on how I am guessing I have avoided the ban hammer for so long.

Looks like you've got a long track record of posting in threads and contributing nothing at all to them so I guess that behavior is normal for you.

Ah yes, the classic signs of a conspiracy theorist. That being said their are about a dozen other ways they can be and obviously were linked or associated with one another.

Fortunately for the hoboebuddy team - no one thinks it will happen to them.

Only way to be safe is to not bot. Two accounts I invested two years into was enough for me.

 

This is the primary way to avoid bans. 'nuff said. I've been botting since back in the day - loooooooooooooong before honorbuddy was even thought of - and not 1 ban yet. Not 1!

@OP - keep your conspiracy theories to yourself. All you're doing is spreading mis-information and spamming up the forums. If you cared to bother to look it up, you'll find plenty of articles that will inform you about what warden is and is NOT.

 

I have been botting since 2005, went through all the bots, speedhacked the shit out of wow when it was still possible along with mountainclimbing, tried every cheat and every glitch and made millions on the ah running 24/7 farm and ah bots.
90% of the time unattended, got whispered got stuck for hours running against trees, spent hours and hours in old ironforge, did a thousand consecutive rivendare runs, turned pandaria into a barren land.
Not a single ban, not even hourly. Not a notice, nothing. On my main november 2004 account.

The lesson perhaps is do it smartly (so easy nowadays considering how good buddy has gotten) and do not sell gold or run multiple bots on an ip. Those are the reasons I think have kept me safe to this day. Impossible of course if you are doing it for lucrative reasons.
