I have used your-freedom for 4 years now at school, as we have a pretty nasty firewall that blocks any p2p/games basically anything besides http. Its a great tool, and i actually get better latency with it at school (50-100ms) than i do at home (100-200 ms).

Is this software detectable? I dont want to use it and then the corporate IT goon squad and HR will be knocking on my office door.

i'll have to give it a try thanks for posting this mess. I love teamviewer, but i've been having issues with it lately. it still works but i have to jump thru a hoop sometimes to get it to work.

just about any software is detectable by corporate IT types if they're persistent / observant enough. our campus here has free public wifi, but it blocks p2p and games pretty efficiently.

Larger company's with a computer base of 500+ tend to not check often. But if you go there to often it shows up on a report as a "repeat" site. Which can show the tech on how many times you been to it. (Most don't really care)

Smaller company's with a computer base of 200 and lower tend to do these checks more often and most of the time you will get written up over it. (Depending on your HR and Tech team)

I use to work with a third party company called Zamba Techs, we monitored company's of all size, and the only ones who cared a great deal about their employee's doing stuff they shouldn't be, was smaller based (Hell 90% of them did). Of course, larger company's did to, but with a vast number of employee's and public computers (Break rooms, etc etc,) that didn't have a login screen meant they couldn't tell which team member was doing it. Man, fun days back when I worked with Zamba.

At my college using software like this gets you expelled and they even say they can press charges (that's prob. BS) and I'm sure if you got caught with this at work you'd be fired lol I'm sure my little brother would love to have this to bypass my parents 'internet security' though lol

I want to add that I know many people will be able to use this at their school/work/wherever, but wanted to warn some people that downloading/installing software on work/school computers can have major consequences. Maybe you should add a disclaimer so people don't flame you when they get busted :D

i work in the it department of a 400 computer company. It's not easier to detect software like this. We look at the charts about once a month... ...and I can say.. if your IT Team detects this software.. they'll not be very happy with you

Had to make a laugh of this, my uncle owns a pc caf? in denmark, copenhagen. Usual I go there and if not many people there he allows me to use 3-4 computers to bot on, this is very nice cuz it's free to me (no electricity)

There are to many computers to keep track of. That is the problem with a high volume of computers, you can't read every single report posted since people use the damn machines so often. I remember when I was over a company with almost 2,000 (Call center) computers and one of the employee's figured out that how to boot linux and use that. (Live boot, not reformat). Surely he couldn't do much because even doing that the internet is still blocked out when going to email pages. <3 people who try 10000 different ways to get around blocks. It is what made my job fun. Don't get me wrong, the job I have now is fun, but not the same ^_^

Not for me sadly, the school I'm on is an IT school. They do have increased security. I've tried with yours 2 (as I have before) and some others, but without luck, when I press login it pops up with the window as if you don't have internet.
