Just a head's up for all you Profile Writers... Do not to ever use Honorbuddy's "My Position" button while inside a vehicle. If you do so, you will be given your position relative to the vehicle instead of relative to the world. Here's an example: * Before entering the vehicle: <Hotspot X="-8419.467" Y="1337.369" Z="102.4995" /> * After entering the vehicle: <Hotspot X="-0.5182" Y="0" Z="0.6434" /> If you're using a vehicle, you'll need to exit the vehicle, use Honorbuddy's "My Position", then re-enter the vehicle. Bugtracker #301 is a request to have this looked into or fixed. Hopefully, this will save someone the head banging I just went through. cheers, CJ
if you mean a boat/zeppelin you are right cause as soon as you go on it the position will be relative to some point of the transport
Nae, I was speaking about controllable quest vehicles like Keys to the Hot Rod, but thanks for the clarification! cheers, CJ
Vehicles are some sort of mini-instances. Ever noticed how your pet don't follow you on one but simply just blink there? Back in vanilla you cold change some game files to make a Ogrimar zeppelin take you to GM island. You would see other people on the zeppelin with you, they would see normal world (boat approaching stv) but you would see it approaching GM island, and as soon as they'd step off the boat they would vanish, and you'd be on GM island.
WoW uses the seat position when you're in a vehicle, which is indeed relative. We already have methods in the current HB to get the absolute position (for transports) but this won't be used for the 'My Position' button. What should be used instead, is the position of the vehicle you're in. Will have to reverse vehicle stuff both for the 'My Position' but also for the navigation when in vehicles. Oh and, does CTM work while you're in vehicles?
For the Keys to the Hot Rod, click-to-move works just fine. This vehicle responds to all four arrow keys, but it won't strafe left or right. If you click a spot behind the vehicle, it actually has a significant turning radius, unlike a mount or being on foot. I would hesitate to extend this into all vehicles provided by the game, but it may cover a significant fraction of them. Thanks for the response, MaiN! cheers, CJ
Haha woow this brings me back, i totally remember doing this. You can do something like this still except that it modifies the nightelf starting area and inserts a bridge type thing all the way to GM island.
