I'm writing this thread because I couldn't help noticing how much effort Blizzard has put into creating quests at the beginning of QuestLines that can't be completed with the current set of Tags that are available. Quests that require you to reach points where you can only get by flying, Quests like the starter quest in Elwynn Forest where you have to put out fires that spawn at designated places, but you need to face the correct direction, quests where you need to pick up the squirrels in mount Hyjal that just run around the place, quests where you have to use an item that is not at a fixed location... It seems blizzard is doing everything they can to create new quests that can't be completed with existing bots. So my question is the following: Is Bossland planning to add new tags to deal with these different changes in quests or do we have to start grinding in our profiles? I'm sure you guys are very aware of the quests changes, but just as a lot of other people, I'm curious if there's a roadmap foreseen for handling these quests, and if there is, can we have a post somewhere with the overview of these types of quests? Thx!
I noticed this too, new quests seem bot unfriendly, but then again they are player friendly and require a bit more thought than just spamming a few buttons, I imagine Blizz designed it from a players point of view, not to slow the botters down. G
There are a number of enhancement requests in BugTracker asking for functionality needed by the new Quest mechanisms. Look for some of the bugs that start with the "[ProFunc]" tag. I'm sure the Honorbuddy team will deliver, eventually, but as Apoc's stated in other threads, making Honorbuddy stable is their first priority. We've also started a [wiki]Profile Writing: Quest Pattern Catalog[/wiki] page in the Wiki. The purpose is twofold: 1) Show newcomers how to do particular categories of quests 2) Track which quest types Honorbuddy can and cannot do This page was just started, and is under development as we explore the wrenches Cataclysm has thrown at us. So don't expect too much from it yet. We have complete faith in the Honorbuddy team to get us there--its just going to take a little time. cheers, CJ
You know we added, the "code" tags for this right? Profilemakers or rather plugin/cc etc. can write new behaviors that can be used in a profile eg; http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbuddy-forum/plugins/free/uncataloged/14548-[quest-behaviors]-quest-vehicle-usage.html<custombehavior file="VehicleBehaviour" arguments="8611.657 844.2223 548,33217,33800,62575,8565.207 677.2923 547.8477"><custombehavior file="VehicleBehaviour" arguments="8611.657 844.2223 548,33217,33800,62575,8565.207 677.2923 547.8477"><custombehavior file="VehicleBehaviour" arguments="8611.657 844.2223 548,33217,33800,62575,8565.207 677.2923 547.8477"> There's no tutorial on how to write them or use them atm as it's still pretty fresh. </custombehavior></custombehavior></custombehavior>
Although a <usespell> tag at a location or on a npc / object would be helpful.. haha edit: this made no sense re-reading it.. a tag to cast a spell at a location* </usespell>
cast spell on npc or object plz!!! <UseSpell Spellid=Please" Name="Make this" Type="Happen" Target="Soon" /> FTW lol
