Hey, i have a question that popped into my head. Is there like some sort of permanent record of botting that sticks to your account? So that blizzard always can check to see if you have botted once or do they have to take you in action for one to get caught? For example, if i bot and dont get caught can they come back 1 week,1 month. 1 year later see that i have botted and ban me then? Or how does it works? Im just curious
Man if you had bothered to search around and look at some threads you wouldn't be asking this question. Of course almost no one use search, lol... Anyway botting bans are primarily based on PLAYER REPORTS in most cases. Too many player reports = GM checks your account out and if it looks suspicious, you get a botting ban. For farming with Gatherbuddy in addition to reports they also look at Nodes Per Hour and also LCP (a server side bot detection method that looks at your bot pathing.) If those get too high you also get a botting ban. They also start looking into popular bot methods, the latest being dungeon farming, which has now become dangerous to do casually because so many bot farms are doing it and they monitor the dungeons. Once you have a ban on your account, even if you get it reversed, the account will always be monitored more closely, and if they see any more activity of botting you will get a perma with no appeal. As for botting undetected but then them coming back and seeing you botting later, no. They primarily work off player reports, NPH, and LCP, or special monitoring (such as GB,Stonecore). There is no real way to tell you are botting other than those methods, at least that is what the community has concluded. Thus if you want to remain unbanned, it is suggest to not use Gatherbuddy for longer than maybe an hour (OR use rndbuddy service for random pathing), not use Dungeonbuddy, and BGBuddy is also very risky because of the bot pathing. Lately there have been videos and discussion of BGBuddy on many popular WoW sites, so now it is even worse. In conclusion if you bot smart and avoid being obvious that you are botting there is little chance of getting banned outside of a mass detection and banwave, which has not happened really since Glider in 2008 or so. The only other mass banwave was for another bot that was using a retarded method of archaeology botting and made it really easy to see who was using it. As far as I know HB has never had a mass detection and banwave. Note here I am not counting the PQR banwave last year since it was not a proper "bot" but just rotations.
