Been here years and always searched the forums for answers to questions and always managed to fix following the advice given to others. However I am just plain stuck trying to get HB working on a pc I've followed all the advice on various posts and stickys a couple of times: basically Go to Programs and Features, in your windows Control panel. Look for: - microsoft .net framework 4 client profile DONE - microsoft .net framework 4 extended DONE - microsoft .net framework 4.5.1DONE - microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable DONE - microsoft visual c++ 2012 x86 redistributable DONE and Uninstall them if they are installed. DONE Restart your PC.DONE install this Installation Errors? Try BuddyDependency wizardDONE and this Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Web Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 from Official Microsoft Download CenterDONE run both as administrator. DONE after the both installs are completed, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++ Then do one last restart. DONE Then the usual clean install of HB - Latest from site - Got Grey Authentication error box so followed sticky advice - download and install this. http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/E/6/2E61CFA4-993B-4DD4-91DA-3737CD5CD6E3/vcredist_x86.exe after your done restart your pc. DONE I have done this procedure more than once but still no joy - as I say I've always managed to fix it myself but this time I need help from someone who can interpret my log and tell me whats happening. Thanks in advance (reason I want on pc is although it works perfect on my laptop my laptop cannot cope with HB & instances)
Hi, O0osparkyo0o, Geez, you are an outstanding diagnostician with awesome communication skills! You have literally tried everything I'd know to check. You might arrange to have Tony TeamView in on you and see if he can figure it out. Honorbuddy Service cheers, chinajade
Thanks China I just wish I could remember when it stopped working on this pc then I could try and work out what had changed - been trying to sort this for that long I feel like a sledge hammer moment coming on. Still I got a reply from the pretty one (well nice avatar) Yay me unless you're really a bloke then eww me. Ta anyway
check your anti-virus that its not removing or blocking access to honorbuddy files. reDownload the latest version of honorbuddy. http://updates.buddyauth.com/GetNewest?filter=Honorbuddy Then do a clean install into a new folder. Do not reinstall over a previous installation or move items from the old installation into the new one. chances are graymagic.dll is missing from your honorbuddy installation, more then likely getting deleted by your av software.
