Industry best practice is not to label your website with a support section and then ask users to redirect their input into forums. If you want your forums to be your support area then denote that on your main home page. If your support area is for some other purpose then label it more appropriately. I don't want to call that common sense but where I come from you don't label the broom closet with a mens room sticker and then tell people who enter and relieve themselves to carry it somewhere else.
