So I was doing some leather farming on my frost mage and noticed it died a lot, even though my mage is ilvl 630 and it was fighting lvl 99 mobs. Seeing as there are no free mage Combat Routines on the buddy store, I've made some (minor) additions and improvements to decrease the amount of dying. It now: Uses Ice Barrier on cooldown. Uses Ice Block on 30% hp (hint: Glyph of Regenerative Ice) Uses Comet Storm on cooldown. It went from dying 4 times an hour on average to not dying at all. How to install: Copy the .cs file attached here to your hb/Routines/Singular/Classspecific/Mage dictionary. I take no credit for Singular. I give no assurance that the frost combat routine I uploaded here works with anything other than grinding. Keep a copy of your old frost.cs file. If there's any other changes/tweaks/improvements you'd like me to look at for mages, let me know.
Thanks so much for sharing. I have played a mage for a long time and I have a hard time finding profiles that work for me when I'm frost. Cheers. -Q
I couldnt get this to work, I edited the common routine for mage, I put ice barrier in the same segment as slow fall. I know nothing about coding, but this is working for me, it will cast ice barrier without fail if its off and youre in combat. View attachment Common.txt it goes in the same folder. as OP said I cant say it works flawlessly or take responsibility for the routine, just edited it to always cast ice barrier, and poorly at that, as I dont how to code.
If you are going to use singular to lvl mage, I recommend using the edit the OP in this thread posted. It will help ALOT. Frost singular seems to have been the worst one for me leveling above lvl 90. And I've leveled everything except monk and lock so far.
I was under the assumption I'd get a notice if people posted in this thread. Apparently not. I'm glad people have found a use for the edits I've made. It's a while since I did this, but if there's anybody still struggling I will see if I can help them out. The changes I made were fairly straight-forward, and it worked well when I tested it on my own mage. If you want me to try troubleshooting why it doesn't work on your mage, you need to give me more info than simply saying it doesn't work. The additions listed were the only ones made, nothing besides that changed. If it didn't use Ice Nova before, it wouldn't afterwards and vice versa.
Beside these wonderful changes, I suggest you to propose them in the official Singular thread (If not done so far), so bobby could take them into account for further Frost official improvements
hey there can you make an option so it wont use dps spells and just use things like icebarrier, ice block, dispel, poly etc it would hel a lot with pvp thanks!
question on this. what do i change to make slowfall become ice barrier. i die so much that it's taking longer and longer to level.
I have a question. I replaced the frost routine with the this routine and now my routine won't load at all. It gives a long list of compiling errors then just hangs. Any thoughts?
Hi i added this to my 100 Frost mage and it won't load and i get the following error.
