Hey everyone, so basically i'm looking for a PC / HTPC ( something that needs low W, 60 or 75W) for the cheap side, it needs to bot 2 bots decently... my budget is basically 250$ max. Cheers
Intel Pentium G3258, Asus Radeon R7 240, Cooler Master Elite 350 - System Build - PCPartPicker Italia To get to your budget, since you'll only be botting two clients, you may drop the dedicated graphic card. The setup I linked works for up to 7 bots with no real issues, since the cpu can be OC'd fairly high with no need for an aftermarket cooler. Also, I figure USD prices are fairly lower than EUR ones.
Oh man thank you for the suggestion, although the price range is a bit over my budget ( im european as well, im looking at 250€ tops ) do you think it can get lower than 250? or is that dreaming a bit too far away?
idk - I bought a second hand pc for 150 euro that runs 5 bots just fine with 6 gig ram and a quad core q6600 ( overclocked to 3.2 ) it's been chugging along now for about 3 months without any problems ^^
Just a second hand website for my country, nothing special. Drove to his home - trew money at him and came home with a botting rig.
not sure where you live, but if you use it for botting -> 12h+ a day, i would also keep power consumption in my mind. since a new cpu / grafic card should use much less power then a 4-5 year old "high end" pc which delivers the same performence. i.e. lets just assume its 70 vs 150w -> 80w * 12h * 7 (days) * 53 (weeks) -> ~360kw/h per year which is for me over 100€ saving. (i might have mistakes in it so you better double check the calculation / price, if its relevant for you)
Exactly, taking in consideration energy costs, i was thinking about an htpc which can consume a lot less W... Mele PCG03. Fanless+Silent 1080p Windows 8.1 mini-HTPC. | eBay this one i linked although it has small HD space and small ram... it can easily bot 1 ( max probably? ) anyways i was thinking as well as botting in OVH lolol... is that viable? at least i would save up on energy costs i guess?
i just know that the cpu on my intel nuc 2820fykh0 / or my intel J1900 (10w cpu / mainboard + cpu 60€) really struggled when wow or diablo 3 was running on min settings. Intel NUC Kit DN2820FYKH (BOXDN2820FYKH0) Preisvergleich | Geizhals EU 130€ + 70€ 128gb ssd + 4/8 gb ram // ASRock Q1900M Pro3 (90-MXGWG0-A0UAYZ) Preisvergleich | Geizhals EU 70€ mainboard + cpu 4x 1.9 ghz but since i got not much experience about tweaking wow / windows for low end hardware it might have been my fault just tryed it once since i got there two pc anyway for my nas / media pc. i think the suggested intel pentium should be the best what you can get, since even the new intel nuc (i3 starting at 280€ + you need a hdd and ram are not so powerful on the cpu and the grafic part shouldn´t matter that much for botting / honorbuddy.
Isn't it worth considering a APU? They seem pretty power efficient and you don't need to factor in a GPU.
Pricing heavily depends on your geographical location. A $200 machine in US is a $350 machine in my location.
