I read a few threads and there's a few ppl saying "bot smart" I'm totally new to this. Is there a thread somewhere that has tips? tricks? etc what to avoid? Id love to find/read it. I did a small bit of digging but I figured one of you "bosses" know the thread/has it bookmarked and can spread the knowledge. Thx <3 -Ray
use the bot to automate daily activities you would otherwise do manually. for example: come home from work, turn on the bot to gather some herbs while you shower and eat supper. then use the bot to do your rotation in the raid. then turn on bgbuddy for an hour to hit up some honor points.
I've botted 4 characters to get full honor gear, no bans. My friend has done 3 characters, running it 24/7 for like 2 weeks straight to get to 100 (kicks) and get honor gear (BGBuddy) and no bans. Although, BGBuddy is quite more risky than questing, I agree. Just make sure you don't run AV or Isle of Conq. I also noticed that BGBuddy is quite glitchy with Strand of Ancients when they are coming off the boat. It will run up to the dock, and just run around them on its mount for like 5-10 seconds, then demount and fight lol. I did a 1 day trial of BGFarmer yesterday, and I have to say... it would be nearly impossible to get banned while running that. It's random, it uses the map, it jumps, it strafes, it calls out incomings, it talks, it does it all. Downside, it costs a chunk of money. :x
haha not random. sorry to say so.... i seen soo many others take the same paths as me. for example. IOC. it will run around the bombs after dieing. hang out and watch all the ppl do the same dang thing....
Instance farming = higher chance to be ban botting 24/7 is a bad idea, we know that there is a huge lag time between being flagged for botting and being banned...so some people may not realize they are caught until later. I would say stay away from botting where many other players can see you, as we know some bans are generated by player reports. So basically do everything you can to not get reported. Chances are if you are running bot for long periods of time unattended someone will see some sort of bot like activity and report you. Some people may get away with not getting reported but this is no excuse to bot recklessly. Use the bot like a person would play. Also come up with your own ways to use the bot or write your own profiles. Public profiles or doing what everyone else is doing can draw unwanted attention. As everyone says there is no guarantee you wont be caught or banned. All you can do is do behaviors that minimize risk.
I've botted over 20 toons to full honor with multiple specs... The trick is not to go AFK on a class until you've worked out the kinks. i always reviewed them and made modifications using great CR's like TuanHA or Mullz coupled with BGBuddy and some basic plugins... It's not risky once you've put in the effort.
Don't do things real players would never do, such as farming dungeons 24/7. That is asking for a ban.
I have geared 30+ toons running bg's as the other poster said work out the kinks and imo its pretty safe. Rotate your bot doing different things, and as always expect to get ban.
