Tldr friend I tried getting into the game doesn't like it. Gave me his account. He was realid'd with me and a mutual friend as well. I would like to make this a bot account since I just built another home theater PC. However I really want to keep my main 100% protected. I know they ban ip ranges if you sell a shit load of gold but I'm not looking to do that. My question is: would my main account be at risk (I was on during tripwire, haven't botted since) if I bot on an entirely new computer on an alt account that used to be my friend's account and I was realid'd with? I'm not looking to start a argument over omg honor buddy detected blah blah I just wanna keep my main safe because the fire is too hot for me at the moment
Nope, this is wrong. They don't ban IPs, but all the accounts logged with the same pubIP/HWID. The idea would be to bot in a VM using a v*n so you're pretty much 100% safe with your main. Also, don't have any interactions with the bot ! =) having bots in FL doesn't matter, it's fine
Botting on another account will put your main account in risk. But little there are a few poeple here who had this problem and those where bulk botter (30+ accounts). I have tried VMware but that doesn't help that much, because they will link the accounts to getter when you trade items between each account blizzard isn't dumb Running 1 other account will not put your main account in that much of a risk
Not looking to transfer ANY of the goods over to my main. This is on a separate computer as well. I think I might just buy a new account and have fun. It's a brand new computer
Yeah that guys who get an IP-Ban are "hardcore botters" with like 20-30 Bots. I already get banned with 10 of my Bots while playing on my main with the same Hardware ID and IP Adress.
Thank you so much for correcting me! I've read about that ip ban range for selling gold but whatever. I think I might just get a new battlechest account just to be 100% safe or something. It's a new computer on a new HWID and I'm never gonna log on to wow with that comp.
Don't put all your money on people's thoughts. Especially when they are nothing more than that , opinions. I was banned in my main account that never shared HWID with my botting accounts. They could have been linked together by guild management or something that required a thorough GM investigation; though, it would be much more likely to have been investigated (read:investigated, not instantly banned) for sharing IP. So, in my case, I suffered an IP ban. Gold selling related? Could be. Who knows. No one here really knows, so don't take any opinion as a fact.
I'm fortunate enough to have to independent internet-lines, one of which my main account has never been logged in to. So I bot on that with accounts I buy from a russian guy who sets it all up, so my name/credit card doesn't appear on billing.
See thats the thing I dont want a GM to look at this case and think hmmm he doesnt play anymore so its rekt thats botting and imma ban his main too. Thats why kinda wanna get a new account, make it seem like i got a new person to move in with me and got them into wow.
