I just came back to the game and i want to do the Mystery Notebook quest line with several characters, some healers and some dps... I can watch the bot from time to time, but i don`t want to watch the bot ALL the time. How much can i trust the bot to run all the dungeon without any major hicup
Its hard to say. It depends on the tank and how they clear the instance. If there is a death, the bot may run back into trash that was skipped. It may also act strange when moving around boss mechanics. Like step step step instead of one move.
I guess i just use the ranged dpses and the healers for now, and if i feel confident i`ll start to use the mellees with a little more supervision
I used to think people were just stupid in pugs, but since I've taken up botting I realized that a lot of those dumb people are actually botters. I would strongly advise watching your robot for the first instance or two (or three). I've read some advice that the best way to do it safely was to have your robot run the lowest level instance possible and that way if your robot runs into trash it can sometimes solo it. I know you were talking about a specific quest, but this can apply to instance botting in general. I would also make sure that your robot never rolls need on anything that isn't an obvious upgrade for your character. Some people get on some very serious anger streaks when others are rude, or roll on things they just vendor. It's best to simply not do anything to draw attention or gain someone's ire. I tried instance botting a few times, but I found the process to be extremely obvious. Mostly just by watching other people--I was able to pick out some bots, and it was pretty easy to find the flags. Now I don't report botters that I see, because it's a mutual respect thing for our community (for me), but it's still noticeable.
it's like, i don't mind doing the quest on 1 char... i used to raid with HB unitl i found another program that was easier to set up.... then i used HB mainly for quests and farming and stuff. But to do 10 random heroic dungeons everyday for a couple of weeks isn't something that i wish to do... not by hand, not having to keep an eye on it. But I give some value to my acc so I guess I'll have to spend a lil more time than I wanted to
Indeed, DB is extremely obvious. Don't use it unless all 5 characters are your own so there's nobody to report you when they inevitably do stupid things. As for the hiccups, those seem to change with every patch, every HB version, even with every run. Sometimes they run without issue for days. Sometimes I leave them for half an hour and find them running into a wall, falling out of the map or just standing there doing nothing.
Yeah it's super fast with RAF, but it depends on your group, if they actualy pay attention everyone will see the following chain behind the tank. I've leveled 5 sets (x3) of 85's with dungeonbuddy in the last week, curious too see if the accounts will last tho
I'm looking to do this with 5 accounts, and 5 Honorbuddies. Can you describe the configuration you used? I believe in my case, I'd set the first primary (level 100 toon) on Dungeon Buddy, and the other 4 on Party Bot. I just need to get them all manually to the instance since I can't use LFD with a level 100. My goal is to use the RaF to powerlevel 4 of the accounts at a time, using a level 100 on 1 account to run the other 4 through the instance. Getting 5 sets (x3) although I'm confused about whether that means 5 toons, 3 times, for 15 total toons to level 85, is quite the accomplishment. I'd love to do mine that quickly. Thanks.
Hey, If you have 5 accounts and 5 hb keys, why not just let them run dungeonbuddy randoms by themselfs? It's probaly just as fast or faster and you can just spamm instant queues. I was doing 3 accounts, 5 chars each so far to 85. I quest the toons to 15 and then have them spamm dungeons (2 dps 1 healer) Tho a party of five would be better since you don't have any humans in your parties then
Please don´t bot in dungeons. Since I'm levelling my low level tank I usually just run random dungs by hand, because it is fastest way. Dungeonbuddy just follow tank and even non-boters usually can recognize bots and many of them just hate bots and reporting them. Usually I try to do runs where I see bots as much easy for them as I can, but they still can be seen
Why do you think you have to run that mass of heroic dungeons? It can´t be for gear and gold, for the rest there is no need to hurry. What do you want to get from heroic dungeons? Anyway. If you care for your acc than I suggest two possible ways. 1 Account. Be not afk while botting dungeons leads to use a rotation bot and move by your own. 5 Accounts. Make your own team and check up roughly every half an hour. As a botter you should earn enough gold for tokens, especially if you are us. As range dd or healer you won´t rise the flag as fast as a melee dd or tank, but truly afkable ... nope.
As others have said, it's not afkable unless your a 5man army.. And to be honest lets look at a 5man army for a moment, from blizzard eyes.. The cheap way Your using one PC to run 5 bots 5 accounts in the same instance with the same hardware ids, with the same ip with the same payment info.. Been running instances for 12hours straight... If that's doesn't stand out bots I'm not sure what will.. Look I'm know there are safe ways to do 5man teams, but even then they are still getting banned.. I use the doungen buddy evey day, but only when I'm at my computer doing other stuff or watching a movie or something, so I can keep an eye on chat log, respond to questions and notice bot screw ups.. It's a great tool, but not one to use for afking Questing is the safest way to level a toon period, not the quickest buy any means, but I've never lost a bot questing.. But every other bot base I have
I think it also depends on the complexity of the dungeons. Last year, towards the end of the expansion, those heroics were so over geared by everyone, it didn't matter. I would let DB run those, and it was fine. I would use it to farm justice points and convert it to honor. Now? The dungeons have a lot of things that players do like skipping a few trash mob packs, or the boss fight mechanics are just way different. I wouldn't trust them yet at all to go AFK. Watching it, I'm sure it's fine, but I wouldn't go afk with them. Not yet at least. Give it another year, and then maybe. haha!
