if your main account got banned for 6mo. but you have several other accounts you never play that are linked by b.net would botting on those accounts endanger turning your 6mo on the 1st account perm?
I want to say yes. Since the 6 month ban wave is a display of power and many people are reporting appealing is doing nothing (with some possible merit to the Blizz employees being told not to overturn anything), it is an attempt to stop botters altogether. It wont work forever. Still, just to be safe I would tread carefully. HB has clearly been detected in some way, and until something is done for it to go stealth mode again, it is safe to assume it will be detectable for some time. If you do manage to get the appeal through and get less than 6mo, I would hold off on botting. It really sucks, but better safe than sorry.
yes, that is a valid point but doesnt answer my question in any way. im clearly not talking about botting today, im just curious if multiple accounts that are linked in b.net can impact the penalities for botting... i have +6 extra accounts on my b.net and really couldnt care less if they got banned, but i dont want what they do to effect in any way what is done to my main account, and i wondered if anyone has any experience or factual knowledge in this area.
Yes, it can effect your main. Depending on the severity of botting, circumstances, account standing (have you been banned before, etc) your alts can get you a perma. I was told this by Bliz support through chat today.
