Could you be more detailed please, nothing could be seen off your report here so far, beside botting on private servers, some fact which is not for this forum, and probably you have been banned on the live servers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they are not allowed to do full system scans but can monitor anything interacting with the WoW Process.

Well if it's in the terms of agreement ,they may scan your computer because you say a "yes" to the terms. otherwise you can't play....But i think they are going to far with this to scan the pc like this,...what's the next step?? let them read all the hardrive data? Nah i'm done with wow and blizzard. (i'm banned to btw) If they are going this far, they can go further.

They can scan their own process space all they want. Anything that injects into their application. They just can't go snooping say through anything that may be available say through the outlook.exe process. At least in the USA. Not sure about else where.

You attached a bot to a process with blizzards copyright on it. That gave them the right to scan it. You can't get unbanned even through an unban service for this one. They usually transfer characters off the account to a new account, how ever in this case they are 6 month bans which entirely lock the WoW section of the account.

PS) Technically. Using their client to play on a 3rd party server is illegal. They could come after you civilly for financial restitution if they really wanted to mess with you.

I've also heard the rumor from reliable sources the wrong email was sent out and all these bans will be escalated to permanent. (The same sources that told me in March to stop using the bot when I did, and my accounts are fine.)

Must be a bad source, GM talked to me said this:

Your World of Warcraft account is currently under a temporary suspension due to a breach of our policies. We have already sent an email with more details but can inform you that the suspension will last for 6 months. You will be able to play again after this time. VIA email and also live chat same context.

some of you may want to google exactly what you consent to when you sign the optional terms.

they clearly state 'hey we are going to scan your computer'
click the box if you agree to give us consent to search your computer
and every single player clicked that box waiving your right to a lawful search and seizure.

you waived your rights by clicking the agree button. its a very common thing to waive your rights. take for example, say i have open carry permit. i can carry a pistol on my belt everywhere i go. now i go to the bank. the bank clearly states [no firearms inside the building]. entering the bank is totally voluntary but you have to leave your pistol in the car if you want to do it. you consent to waive your rights to open carry by choosing to enter the bank.

and to you people saying the fourth amendment is a contract with the federal gov. you are following the federal govt guidelines when you consent to waive that right. stop repeating something you heard from a stranger on the internet. actually google the topic and search for documents to support your arguments.

This is both right and wrong. I do like the gun comparison :) But there has been cases where the ToS/EULA is going overboard with rights and has been hammered down because of this.
One example is Itunes in Norway, which was going to be illegal if they didnt change their EULA, since in Norway if you buy a product from a store (Music or Ipod/iphone) You own it and can do whatever you want with it. Which at the time you did not own, you owned a license to listen to it.

Same was ruled in US with the iphone, making jailbreaking not illegal though ToS said so.
There has even been Eulas that included "your first born child is ours" (For fun)

The thing is that nobody (as far as i know) have ever contested this in court either in US or EU.

Also one could argue over the complexity of the ToS and Eula. I really like this article https://www.techdirt.com/articles/...-need-to-take-month-off-work-each-year.shtml

There is also a good documentary about the complexity of eulas/tos, but cant remember the name.

All it'll take is one scan on a network on a domain and Blizzard is done for. They'll have committed default industrial espionage, as the end user has no right to give them access to that domain. Which they stopped doing just for this reason. It does NOT scan anything anymore except things attached to the WoW process.

Yeah I know that, it has been stated since warden was added to the game that it only scans wows memory space.
Which was stated in the court case vs gilder, which is many years ago. Warden (software) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia MDY Industries, LLC v. Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The main problem here is that they do not give any evidence of the crime they are suspending your account on, which could also be called illegal (atleast in EU).

But the question is then how can they detect the keyloggers (Which does not have to attach to a wow process to log the keys entered) ?
Statement taken from wikipedia (So take it with some salt)
"Warden also has a protection module in it, which provides users security from malware, keyloggers, and rootkits which hide keyloggers. If Warden detects a known piece of malware active on the system, it will block the user from logging into the game, and will display a screen which directs them to Blizzard's support site for removal instructions."
