This is either Blizzard showing player favoritism when people are spending money on their game (I recently purchased 5 character transfers, a recruit a friend account, and a few wow tokens.) Or this is pure luck of the draw... I've been botting about 3-4 hours a day daily since HB beta releases for 6.1. Recently started using Dungeonbuddy on a Bear/DPriest RaF Account, got them to 85 Tuesday the 12th, Wednesday everyone is banned for 6 months but all 3 of my accounts are just fine. This isn't a troll post, and the only reason I'm even posting about it is because I'm truly curious as to what happened. Maybe I can repeat it next time around... Anyone have any ideas?
Aww, all my posts were reset and my lifetimer thing is gone next to my name >.< Oh well, another issue for another day.
have a guild member that had recently transferred faction and server and had used HB during march/april/may and he was not hit as of yet. He believes that transferring saved his account
Well like I was saying, Tuesday the day before the banwave I was using Dungeonbuddy and hit 2 toons to 85. Was going to switch to new toons wednesday but I got a tripwire message lol... So these guys weren't transferred anywhere. Maybe I'm flagged for a future banwave? Hell who knows, I spent a lot of money on WoW this month, they go and ban my account and they're going to get hit with the fraudulent charges thingy. I keep hoping I just got lucky
You justgot lucky, my main was ban that very morning I bought another expansion and another sub, I looked at my battle.net history and was shocked at how much I have given them over they years. Pure luck
to bad isnt it D evrylifetime tittle is gone at the name mine to i have 7 honorbuddy keys. and 2 hearthbuddy keys and 1 diablo key
None of my accounts (3) got banned. I am probably just lucky. I just use CRs and a few hours of quest bot. I have been on a break for the last 3 weeks though. That may be why.
i kind of agree cause an xpack and a sub really isnt much.. but like i just bought transfers and race changes. 3 boosts for new characters all on the same account and from a business standpoint i would never ban an account (breaking tos or not) that is spend extra money on my game. that person would be far to profitable PS. neither of my accounts were hit by the ban as well and i botted 8-14 hours a day on both accounts using bgbuddy, dungeonbuddy, and quest.
its the 'resetting my post count' is what id be worried about. why would they want to hide your post history? they realize its the player spending the money, not the account. and if people have money to spend, they are likely to spend again. i know ive purchased more than a few battlechests and expacs. banning any of my accounts didnt slow down my spending one bit.
true but why take the risk of banning someone with the hope that they buy again? if a rivers flowing you dont dam it up during a drought
This kind of got off track it can be closed if you want. I assume it's just luck of the draw, and this account is really old no idea why forum posts were reset, still have my lifetime key and can login to the buddy store and what not so I'm not concerned. I didn't have anything contributing to the community aside from a few bug reports (and most of those profiles either aren't here or are archived) here and there so it's not like we're missing much. I haven't been on these forums in a while though, I generally just keep to myself and my botting ways. Pretty much just come check it out when Tripwire is activated. Thanks all for the responses, not like we have anything else better to do with HB down
while we deal with blizzard on a personal basis, meaning we draw on our own experiences and maybe those few around us. blizz deals with the entire playerbase. one of us gets banned, we know what we would do. while blizz knows what most of the botting community will do. AND they know what other botting communities will do. and what do we do? we buy more accounts. id guess a large part of us are botting now, waiting patiently till hb staff decides what to do. and once blizzard gets the word out about stomping bots, this should bring in a little extra business from those players who quit because of bots i feel like blizz did this to make a point. sure, they lose some subs, but not all those subs are 10yo accounts. and the ones that arent will be quickly replaced. i suspect there will be an increase in subs of people trying to take advantage of the decrease in supply of botted goods. --------------------------------- and i think damming a river during a drought would be an excellent idea. assuring you will have a water supply while others dry up is a pretty sound business model. not sure i could bend that into a wow analogy, its getting late, ive got a hand full of pizza, ill come back and proofread
