Itunes gets thirty cents of every dollar. I think Mastahg should get the same (30%) since he ultimately has to be responsible for reading through all of the code and rejecting some of the crap that certain people will want to put in the store.
Getting Started with the Buddy Store (Developer) Please take the time to read the above link. Pay particular attention to the part where is says: Also, in the Development Priorities thread (Here) at one point Mastahg had stated that the Store would not be implemented before Heavensward came out. I've gone back and looked for it to quote and it seems that he has since deleted that post, so who knows what that means.
If "distribution channel" means Mastahg, I think that is very fair. If it simply means Bossland gets 40%, then I think Mastahg should get a healthy chunk of that because it seems that he will ultimately be responsible for any Rebornbuddy store and its products.
Strange, someone else must have deleted my post. Store integration won't happen before heavensward. No ETA for after heavensward.
I don't post much on here but for this one I will. As much as I enjoy all of the free plugins, combat routines, profiles and etc. I also know that the development on those things come at a high demand of time. Lets say I decide to make a routine and then provide maintenance on it to the community, after some time I'm up to nearly 100+ hours of testing, coding, researching and maybe 1-2 people might have donated $5 to me? This does not really give me any incentive to keep up with the project and I would just stop. Now, if I'm getting compensated properly for the work I do (or developers do) this, I hope, would help ensure quality to the tools we are all using. For example; a combat routine is $20 and 95% of the time I play I'll be using combat assist on Ninja because the fact is, it's going to play it way better than I can which allows me to focus more on what is going on around me in a raid or other types of content. If I sink a week of time on my Ninja pushing coils, pony farming and other things and put in 10 hours this week then the cost of that plugin is really nothing at all, and the cost vs time investment increasingly goes down for me each day i'm putting time into it. Skip forward to months ahead I would be at pennies for the cost to time ratio I've invested into it. There are going to be pros and cons for a buddy store. However, the pros will outweigh the cons and in the process hopefully weed out some of the people who are ungrateful for all the work the community has been putting into this. I'd gladly support the developers here.
ill be ur mayweather. How much money would u need to put store integration at the top of your priority lol
What is the store... and how will it help RBB? One of the reasons I liked this bot over others was the one time fee. The other ones, where you are essentially "renting" the bot per month is a big turn off.
While the HB store has made individual developers a lot of money, its actually been accompanied by a fall in the sales of HB itself. As of now, we are trying to fix the HB store so that at least it does no harm to the underlying business. Until this happens, there is no way we will consider a store for other bots.
The reason people suggested the RB store was to keep developers interested in FFXIV as alot of them are leaving. Not much has been made lately for rebornbuddy. I understand it may need tweaking, but i would pay extra for better and more plugins/profiles.
A lot of people would, which is why the HB store worked out so well for the community, and I can't wait for that to come to RB. I personally have about 150$ wrapped up in the HB store, and I loved every purchase.
WTB end-game/high quality CRs for: MNK, DRG, BRD, NIN... oh wait, I would pretty much spend money on all CRs if I had the choice. Bring on the Rebornbuddy in the buddystore!!
Same. And what better time to really push this than now, when MANY refugees from WoW are looking for a new game to fill their time. I'm in that same situation, and I would love to come back and let a routine heal for me.
I am starting to get the vibe that people from honorbuddy expect rebornbuddy to be a clone with all the bells and whistles of HB. I am very satisfied with the product and enjoy the small community of RB. I am afraid that if everyone tries to push rebornbuddy along to catch up to the advanced abilities of HB we are going to have a train wreck. The larger the target is the more SE is going to fight back. I say no to the community store. We do not need right now 50 different devs trying to pwn crap code at us like this is the android market. If anything the community devs who have been with rebornbuddy should somehow get some form of compensation and let them help with integration and quality check. Reborn Co, Magitek, and Ultima devs would make a good quality control team. And in all honesty I think that the core development of the bot should be finished and polished before advance rotations and a new car smell placed in the bot. mastahg do not let people try to pressure you and rush you along with this bot. It is not ready for a community store.
can community developers set up their own store? With the audience of this size maybe it would be worth it?
Most ComDevs have their own stores. But we are not allowed to talk about them here on thebuddyforum. google can halp in many cases. google for Plugin or profile, followed by the developers name, and if you are lucky you will find something. edit: Well... maybe not most of the CommunityDevelopers. but some.
