I forget that this is a business, part of a 4+ billion $$ a year company "Blizzard Entertainment had steady and strong performance on Hearthstone, with ongoing engagement on the Q4 expansion Goblins vs. Gnomes. As mentioned during our February earnings call and consistent with our experience following prior expansions, we saw a decline in World of Warcraft subscribers. Subscribers ended the quarter at 7.1 million. World of Warcraft's revenue performance at constant FX has been more stable, driven by continued strong uptake on value-added services and price increases in select regions, which partially offset the subscriber declines, particularly in the East." - http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ACTI/186791807x0xS1104659-15-34878/718877/filing.pdf Main docs: Activision Blizzard, Inc.: Current Reports "We delivered better-than-expected Q1 results, increased our 2015 non-GAAP revenue outlook to $4.425 billion, and our earnings per share outlookto $1.20 per share." -- Activison Blizzard (ATVI) Earnings Report: Q1 2015 Conference Call Transcript - TheStreet
net revenues are more in 2015, which means they earn more with the release of WoD...this is in contrary what most people say about rambling that ''most people left wow after wod, and poor sales, etc.'' indeed, docs show otherwise. just goes to show that most people are talking out of their asses
• World of Warcraft subscriber number 2015 | Statistic i like where you are going, but i think most people a jump from 7m before wod release to 10m at wod release is true. and a drop from 10m down to 7m couple months later is true. sure they are a huge company, and they are still making money, but wouldnt it have been better if WoD was actually playable and they kept those 3m extra subs?
