So i have been testing 2 accounts. First was on twitch.tv, så i got banned farely fast(gundrake), in 4hours. SO i tried one of my other accounts(added trial time) Lvl 55-> 64, both times i got disconnected, but not banned(return quest failed, im pretty sure) So more than 8 hours questing without problems, will keep this updated. Btw im on Europe
Wait wait, you are botting on Twitch? And got banned? And were surprised? I must not understand what you're saying 100%...
Pretty sure he was just reporting what he was doing when he got banned. I dont see him saying it was strange or that he was suprised.
How does that information help anyone? It was reckless botting behavior. Might as well have said "I contacted a GM and confessed to botting and I got banned" Well, duh. Unless what he means is that they aren't taking action on all accounts for the activity of one. That is productive. Although, that's not what the title suggests.
What is the title suggesting according to you? That he thinks that HB is detected? "Detected? I think NOT" leads me to think that he doesnt think HB is detected and from his post I would come to the conclusion that Blizz doesnt ban because of IPs and maybe not because of accounts being link through Battlenet, if his accounts actually were linked.
Oh, don't be mistaken. Blizzard will IP ban you if they find you have been a constant repeat offender.
In this day and age it's impossible to IP ban someone. Like myself, I have a dynamic IP with my ISP and every time I reboot my router I get a new IP.
Not saying they dont BUT have we had any proof of this? An IP-ban would mean as soon as you make an account it's instant banned, yeah? Or your IP is banned from logging in / making new accounts, something like this. IP-flagging would be more probable. I mean: They simply flag the IP, watches all accounts made/played from that IP like hawks and if they see it's a bot bans the accounts. This is just me speculating and my own thoughts so dont take it like I'm saying they dont do IP bans and just flags the IP.
Blizzard isn't going to allow any indication that Honorbuddy is detected. That's the reason for the ban waves and the aftershocks. Nothing he is doing is going to allow us any indication into whether or not Blizzard is being detected. However, it might give us some clarification on how Blizzard treats multiple accounts and what sort of flagging takes place and under what circumstances.
there are two things we know. 1: Blizzard managed to detect a lot of Honorbuddy users. This is not to say that they was trying to detect Honorbuddy users but something that a lot of Hooerbuddy users are doing did get detected. 2: Honorbuddy does not know what Blizzard did to detect these users. This also means they most like did not fixed what was causing the detection unless they did it by accident. What does this mean. These means that at any time you may see another ban wave that targets or seems to target Honorbuddy users. The real question is why are you even talking about IP bans when we know that is not what caused the bans to start with.
anyone who admits botting on twitch should be banned and have their keys revoked. sorry its breaking the same principles they are trying to regain by banning arena botting...
I honestly believe they're detecting it with the movement patterns in small instanced areas, like the garrison, arenas, dungeons, ect. The only thing that trips that up is if there are any heavy arena CB assist users who also didn't got garrison, dungeons or anything else really. It seems like they may have moved it out into the WoW world in bits and pieces but I really haven't read enough to say anything useful on this, I.E. people being banned from Kick's profiles. I've been a heavy combat assist user on one of my accounts and I use another account as an all-AFK kind of plaything. On my cb assist account, no ban. On my all AFK account using buddy 1-100 profile, no ban. I NEVER used garrison bots, used pvp bots years ago, and when I did dungeons, I would use combat assist, not dungeonbuddy. I'm using my all-AFK account as ban bait with the 1-100 profile since the re-release, using it as I normally would; starting it up and doing something else for a while. I even stopped it and used combat assist for a few dungeons, then switched to archaeology bot because I figured it innately has enough 'Random' in it for me to feel safe. Still not banned. This is all speculation, completely, but it's what I've noticed from my perspective.
In germany its common. Everytime I reboot I have a new IP. If they activated lnc? LNP bla the thing using movement patterns then its clearly why they get me. And if they use movement patterns now they will get every profile user using kicks for leveling or do the garrison stuff.
