From HB staff response it looks that they are not sure themselves what caused the banwave. And after seeing few recent ban reports it got me thinking. What do 99% of HB users have in common? Well most likely everyone used Kick's leveling profiles in the past or recently. Doesn't matter if you leveled through dungeons you had to use Kick's leveling profiles to get to lvl 15. And people reported that random legit acc's got hit and some botting acc's survived.
So did Blizz coded something that tracks Hotspots, patterns etc. that could identify Kick's leveling profiles? who knows... Just my wild speculation.
      So what are your thoughts?

wrong. im sure there are Raf accounts that were granted levels, and kicks isnt the only profile pack. there are others. so you can toss that theory out the window.

I can say one thing the bans have in common... they are from the EU (I may have missed one from the US, but I don't think so)...

This isn't exactly a banwave. A handful of bans pales in comparison to 100k like we saw on the 14th...

Might not even qualify as an aftershock, yet.

On 13th got hit thousands of accounts, which never used movement in wow, just rotations. Some of them not even used it for leveling but just for BG/Arena/Raids

You are 100% correct in your assumption. I was fishing by hand, had HB loaded and running with LazyRaider and millz lock CR. all i did was hit a creature while fishing and then got banned. 3:08pm 5-13-15 central time. All these morons blaming arena is just stupid, I have not done arena or the BG's in over 8 months. only do weekly raids and garrison stuff and all i use the cr for only combat rotation. no real bot-ting or farming anything so something took place that they saw.

I have a little outside of the box theory that I hope finds its way to the devs to consider. Most combat routines have something in it that prevents spells being casted while on GCD, this makes bots "perfect" in the sense they will never be spamming a spell say half way through a GCD. A real player doesn't have the luxury of waiting 0.1 seconds before a GCD ends to cast, so I am wondering if Blizzard could be combing through the server logs and using similar kinds of heuristics as they do for comparing bot waypoints against real player waypoints to detect farming, a real player will have a lot of "noise" in their spell casting patterns whereas a bot might exhibit some kind of consistency that is detectable in a large enough sample size.

I think these 100ms failed casts are not server side, but could be wrong. From my own experience, if you pre-cast in the last 150-200ms of a cast, your cast is like queued, its taken into account.

Pls just stop with the theories...

There are millions of ways one could detect a bot in wow...

Hell they could do what they did to everyone on our server on wild star, they teleported the entire realm all 900ish off is into a square box, and banned everyone that kept running into he walls.. Then teleported everyone back to there home location..

We will never know, and if blizzard wants to wipe us out again they will....

This ban wave happen for a reason, I'm not going into it now... But I highly doubt Blizzard will do it again for at least 12 months

Take a look at the parent forum, it looks like they are just doing it on the fly now.

I think you are missing the point, I never said it was a ban wave, what I am saying is it seems like now, in some cases they are just scrapping the bot accounts as they see them instead of saving up a list and dropping them all at once. Just an observation.

Sorry, not intended to accuse you.

The "on the fly" bans are common and I would have more doubts if they stop delivering bans and suspensions for a week or month.
