Hey guys, long time buddy'er with HB, DB and a few others. Mostly botted for personal use and the occasional farming but have always been behind times with those. I play a lot of HotS and have been curious what people are going to bot HotS for when this one becomes available? Without some seriously advanced scripting and/or logic I do not see a bot in this game competing against human players competitively. Obviously there is level farming through 'vs. AI' but other than character levels and the gold that is associated with it, I don't see much in the way of profit. Account selling? Just curious.
Not everyone bots to make cash some people bot cause they dont have time in Real Life to compete with the uber dorks that dont have real lives
Best comment EU. Hahaha I think that since HotS is a F2P product, the questing and hero leveling should be more than enough to justify a bot.
Hey I'm all for this with Wow/wildstar to get past all the time sink shit so yeah I can understand it would be good for leveling the characters if you've not much time, but I'd assume that was a small demographic of Buddies. Assuming just farm the shit out of 'vs. AI' till desired levels etc Is there anything more worthwhile than this though?
Hero levels basically. If you farm a hero to level 20 there's nearly 4kish gold from memory. But that's about the only benefit, unless you literally want the bot to farm so you can sink 10k gold into the master skin for you. But this is my question, curiousity, outside of hero level farming I would be surprised to see if the bot can achieve anything significant, because the only other thing worthwhile botting might be Hero League. I'd argue though, based on previous experience with Honorbuddy/Wildbuddy/BuddyWing et al. that the bot is going to have a hard time being competitive. HL is so much about team work and anticipating what the enemy does, even down to holding off using abilities some times to line up a wombo combo (like Kael holding back and then orbing a flame strike as Johanna vacuums them up). It is all going to come down to how advanced the developers can make the bot logic I guess, which I'll be Jon Snow in that regard, as I know nothing about the extent that they can push the logic. Time will tell I guess how successful this one is.
Gold, Levels which give more Gold. Master Skins. Piggy Bank mount. More gold for unlocking heroes. I imagine that's what it will be for. An aimbot would be pretty neat for the skill shots if that would be possible to do with Stormbuddy like with Stitche's Fish hook. Or to have the bot do your combos for you. That could be pretty helpful. You could do those sort of things with the Leaguebot that I tried. I hope we can do the same with Stormbuddy.
Well that was the other thing I was thinking maybe but was never sure whether they could do a combat assist or Enyo style. Be interesting to see how that turns out.
Pay 1€ for a trial key, bot 72 hours straight each time and you'll have plenty of heroes unlocked/leveled for less than what Blizzard sells a single hero for. Repeat everytime you need a boost! Now if the bot is made well enough and allows powerful plugins/scripts to run, then it might be fun to take a lifetime licence to see how high you can push it in ranked games
Repeat everytime you get banned, you mean. Buying from Blizzard is risk free, botting 72hours straight is almost certain to get you banned, or at the very least raise a lot of flags.
We'll see how that goes, it surely depends on how obvious the bot is and how much other players report you. If the bot is too unsafe for that then indeed it will have to be restricted to full AI games (I heard there was a daily XP limit on these but never reached it myself, so unsure about what the cap is)
I'm curious what their stance is on this. It seems highly hypocritical to allow the bot to be used in ranked PvP in HotS but disable it in WoW, to quote Bossland directly: https://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbuddy-forum/216651-statement-arenas-battlegrounds.html So I do not see how allowing Hero League or Team League could be construed as not infringing on "one-on-one spirit of competition". Putting that aside for the moment, given how competitive even Hero League is, you'd be mad for trying to bot it, the team would explode on you for doing stupid shit, and no doubt in my mind you would be getting reported and subsequently banned very quickly. Why? Because a bot cannot work with the rest of the team, and that is what this game is mostly about, team work. I think Karls is on to something though, profit-wise I can only see this bot being useful to grind out hero levels and then sell the account for cheaper than a single hero or even the start kit. It wouldn't take too long I suppose and if you can have 30+ accounts running it would work out.
Hero League or Team League most likely will not be supported i dont think it is now. Quick match tho for more exp
This is only true for Co-op mode(VS A.I). Reaching the cap would require you to bot 5-7 hours to even reach it(without any xp bonus).
I didn't know that they went that way in WoW so indeed it might just be limited to XP/Gold farm here too. But I guess even quick match is already a good enough AI-making challenge so still some potential there if the bot API is powerful enough. But no doubt that it will still be great for newer players or account farmers, to reach level 30+ with a decent amount of heroes unlocked in some acceptable timeframe (especially at trial price for regular players, 1€ for up to 10M XP - your 72 hours will overlap over 4 days - with a bit of extra time to get it running sounds like a pretty sweet deal, especially early on when losing the account is not a big deal). And about that any idea how much XP going from 1 to 30 takes? That's nice, I thought it was much lower. And indeed that leaves a lot of room for a long botting session each day without anyone to report you!
