In all honesty when I'm sitting here reading people complaining about the bot being down and not understanding what a great job this team has done. I've used this bot since end of BC and was a lurker for awhile, and I'm really curious if there is a way to donate to the Devs. They have a life besides this and we all buy the bot one time and it's good from then on, no sub. I'd love to toss a few extra bucks here in there to this team as I usually don't have time to actually play working 14 hour shifts 5 days a week and it makes life easier for when those days off to get other things done.
Re re? Why would u donate for something you already paid for? They re millionaires they don't need any more blind followers for motivation. Matter a fact they were millionaires before the buddystore. You do know they get roughly half of every single sale on there right? Yea I'll donate to a team who cares so little for how the software I bought performs and my security that they use a 15 year old architecture and their reasoning for doing so is "cause" with a complimentary closed thread. You go ahead bud, but don't be surprised if things stay the same and the next ban wave comes, people disappear in droves. TLDR; they don't need your money. It would be equivalent to using it for TP, but if you ball that hard - hey!
Dont think that they are millionaires now ^^ For sure, they sold tons of licenses, but 25€ for lifetime is nothing. If you bought you license 2 years ago, you paid 1 time, and then they have never seen 1 cent from you but they have to pay the servers etc. And probably they are more expensive than we think cause HB is like 100% up expect of updates like right now. Maybe they got a small percentage of purchased profiles, cr's, ... in the store (IDK) but thats all.
They'd have had to sell 37037 copies to make a million (US Dollars). I don't think they've reached that and even if they have, part of that goes into legal fee's, paying the dev's, and upkeep.
I have always said they should charge a monthly subscription fee. They could even hire more staff , improve the time and security of patch updates that way. I am no mathematician, but I only see them eventually losing money unless they implement it.
Yea they would get more money over time, but they will lost many customers too i think. Probably the most of us got a 1 Session lifetime license for minimum. What to do with that? If they change it to a mothly fee, the community will go enrage. At least, Blizzard will loose thousands of players too xD
Well, they are legally obligated to honor their life time keys. The way I would get around that is make an HB 2 x64 and let HB fall into a slow decay. By contract they are not legally obligated by time constraints, so they could take their time updating it. I think the one time fee of 30 bucks per bot and a 15 a month sub would not be too much money. I mean many people actually make money from using HB and people like me just have it and don't mind the cost for better service.
I would pay a monthly fee of 10-15 bucks a month. but the cost of the bot shouldn't be 30 bucks more like 10+a monthly fee
I wouldn't enjoy a monthly fee considering there are times where I stop playing WoW (and thus use HB) for months on end. I would hate to see my lifetime key degrade like that as it was purchased for a flat fee for unlimited use (time wise), and I am sure many others would enrage. In the end it would cause the bot to evolve and the community to adapt if that did come to pass. Although I'm sure Blizzard would throw a huge fit as well. However I would not mind at all if HB opened up donations to the dev team to help run the servers. I do see the devs as possibly using HB themselves to make money gold farming like some of us, they just happened to open up their gates to others to enjoy and make use of the bot as well.
Well, HB cannot continue to operate as efficiently without a steady stream of revenue. I don't think these one time fees are adequate. No matter how you feel, at the end of the day, money talks and BS walks. I would pay 50 a month if I thought they could find a security team to stay ahead of Blizz and insure my accounts are safe. I don't think they can afford it on the business model they have right now. It has cost me a lot of money to open new accounts.
You must also remember that they're not only making bots for WoW, they've DemonBuddy for Diablo 3, Tankleader for Worlds of Tanks, BuddyWing for SWTOR, ExileBuddy for Path of Exile, HearthBuddy for Hearthstone and WildBuddy for Wildstar. So, im sure they're getting much more than that ;p
True. Although they could be using the free starter accounts anyone can get. If they did start charging a fee I would move faster towards selling gold/items.
Yeah, but wildbuddy doesn't seem to generate much interest. I can't speak for the rest, because I don't use them.
Buddystore and ads take care of that... Ads are probably a majority of the hosting costs, not to mention they've got more than one bot for sale. Edit: I disabled adblock out of curiosity and saw no ads; so I'd assume they're doing all right with the bots and buddystore and what not.
Did you not see they had over 100,000 people get banned JUST from WoW alone for botting, so they've cleared that mark requirement more than 3x... not including like the 5 other bots they have running atm.
