I've been absent for a while and all of a sudden I come back and everybody is freaking out. Half the plugins I used are now missing and from what I could gather they're now hosted off site? Stuff like Destiny seems to have been killed off because of some drama? What the hell is wrong?
There hasn't really been any more drama than usual. A few devs and mastahg don't mesh well but that's not why people have start pulling their plugins and etc. It's just that a lot of the devs wanted to start getting paid for their work and the recent drama between the BuddyStore/Community Developers (and the fact that we'll never get a BuddyStore for RebornBuddy) convinced a few devs to make their own store. Honestly, I don't blame them (and kind of envy them lol). Every person on that site has made more in a week than I've made in months from donations (and their plugins are one-and-done, I have to constantly keep updating/tweaking my CR forever). Nothing is stopping other devs from starting their own free projects though. If someone doesn't want to pay, then make your own version for free.
I'm willing to pay. i paid for a lot of plugins for honorbuddy. The issue is that nothing seems to be available at the moment, all the plugins I used to use have pretty much disappeared and the one website I could find pretty much only offers Agil :/
Destiny and Lisbeth are both being remade (as paid plugins). Possibly GourmetGuy although I don't remember (I think there have been a couple rough free remakes though). What other plugins are you looking for?
Many others are in development and are not yet ready; keep an eye on that website, since that is where you will find many of them once they are complete and tested.
I will, I'm less worried about the situation than I was a couple minutes ago now. Honestly I'm glad this is happening, while it's a bit hellish right now the convenience of having an organised shop for plugins if ultimately what I want.
i would rather pay to be honest because usually when people are getting paid they work better and are more diligent. When its free its great also but again you can't expect much from something free in terms of updating and such because people have lives and jobs but when people are getting paid they tend to work harder imo i really liked the honorbuddy store and i am willing to pay for anything worthwhile
