Anyone else recognized a huuuuge increase of lag/stuttering since 2.0? maps in party is unplayable now (3000 ping) and even in solo maps my ping is going up and down between 30 and 300. Combined with stuttering... seems that skill bombing is lagging the servers, running a lvl1 at act1 is no problem.... i didn't check the fps, what would be a good value? i hope it's not caused by my vpn (routing).... cause i cannot do anything about it... located frankfurt, of course i login also frankfurt but it's nearly unplayable. any idea? play at 6 in the morning, not at prime time? (the bot could do this after release^^ not me....) or is something wrong with my machine and its no issue caused by 2.0 ? I really dont know greets
2.0 definitely has had some issues when it comes to this. I don't play on the EU gateways, but I've heard people who do have issues still. I've not had any terrible issues myself, other than when the servers die, but I've noticed some minor performance issues in some of the new areas and the old areas that are now a lot larger than they used to be. I think things will settle down over the next month or so and these issues will be taken care of. For now though, there's not much you can do. Try switching to predictive and see if you notice any differences.
Maybe change between lockstep and prediction inside options > UI - Lockstep got auto select here and gave me unlimited stutter, I manually select prediction and everything went back to normal.
i live in germany, using frankfurt gateway. i have no issues, around 60 ping i believe. Never tried group play and im not in maps yet. even when they had a queue and i was like 2000th person, after i got in, there were no lags. 30 to 300 ping sounds good enough tho ? fps, 30 would be minimum, 60 would be good. (click f1, the left one is ms untill next frame or something and the right one is fps)
I've had some really high completely unplayable pings on most bots (VMs and multiple VPNs), whilst a client ran directly on the host pc with no vpn was perfectly fine.
First i found out that my vps had slower speed than normal. (2mbit down/0,5 mbit up which is maybe a bit too low) Restarted it and i got 5mbit down/2mbit up. (Still a bit strange cause i got 35mbit on my local machine without VM/without VPN. I shouldnt loose that much speed) the connection is still not as good as it was pre 2.0. Every few seconds the ping spikes and it’s stuttering more. Maybe it’s the server in frankfurt, but it’s the one recommended at the login screen. Lets see if the bot can handle frequent 300ms ping good. /edit: well, it seems that this issues now spread all over the Technical Support Forums. and growing since the last 48 hours. so i guess all i can do is wait and hope that GGG fix their servers. and i hope it's no fight against the VPN users, like: "hey, we found a solution to lag all that stupid botters playing via VPN/VPS" -.-
yesterday i checked my connection again: still not as good as it was pre 2.0 but at least i can play with a ping between 40-300 ms. I think the FPS is one of the things thats given me more troubles than the ping. Still many spikes Especially the new areas (aqueduct and such) give me bad ping and FPS "up and down". Compared with old areas. Maybe i should try FPS Limiter and such. With only 2 VMs running and good hardware i guess i need stable, high FPS. Not up and down like it is actually. But the problem must also be on GGG's side. Not only my specs.
now my connection to PoE is even worse... constantly 1000ms spikes, wondering how the bot can even handle this and farm a bit. But it's also very dangerous cause it may look "botish" when your char is stuttering from chest to waypoint... before 2.0 my VPS/VPN was working perfect, now my winmtr is showing package loss. still many many complaints at the PoE Forums... i dunno if it makes sense to ask my VPN Provider... PoE just totally fu**ed up the routing after 2.0
