      HI Guys,

Wondering if anyone could suggest or link to a decent cost-effective laptop that would be suitable for primarily playing downloaded and films on (must be able to stream these from a remote networked pc), would be extremely handy if it was also capable of being connected to a larger tv via s-video (red white and yellow cables).

any help and advice would be gratefully recieved

      Kram,
Most laptops can stream from remote pc's in fact i have built a cheap wireless network in my home on wireless N and some bridges from linksys routers hacked with dd-wrt software. I use my home network to stream videos that way, also if im outside my home i use TVersity.com which allows any device i want to connect and stream my database.

Here is a decent laptop i found under 1,000.00

      Acer TravelMate 8572 Core i5 520M 2.4GHz 4GB 320GB DVD?RW HD Graphics Bluetooth 15.6" Windows 7 Pro w/Webcam ACER AMERICA CORP LX-TW603-022

Hi There, thank you for the replies, does the laptop have the s-video out capability?
