Happened at random last night when prompted to update HB. Figuring this was common and happened in the past, I clicked ok. I just logged after it happened last night hoping there would be a fix, but there is still nothing fixed.
I should add that I have deleted the settings folder and tried, same error. I tried reinstalling HB from scratch and still get this same error.
Make a clean folder and reinstall honorbuddy. something is wrong with the greymagic.dll file it seems
remove: - microsoft visual c++ 2010 x86 redistributable - microsoft visual c++ 2012 x86 redistributable restart your pc, download the installationwizard https://www.thebuddyforum.com/attach...uddywizard-zip run them as administrator. after wizard installation is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++ restart
Ok, I removed 2010/2012/2013, restarted, ran windows update which required a restart again, ran BuddyWizard and successfully downloaded and installed. I then tried to run HB installer and i get an error. I repeated this process 3x to ensure everything was removed each time. Here is my log.
While I await your responses, I am just re-downloading VS and all updates in hopes that somehow fixes this, however I don't think it will make a difference.
So this is fixed for now, sort of through a back end way. I found a thread from 2013 where someone had the same problem, 0x800705AA - element not found. Did a scannow and found somehow windows update has been corrupted. The work around was a link posted on that thread that had a link to the latest zip. The launcher does not work, but at least now HB does. Will update if I have any further problems tonight.
