bought ^^ it's still awesome but would like clarification on frost dual wield. my dps is fine but moar is always good =]
There is only a very minor thing that can be changed in the rotation but it is a very small change. There is nothing wrong with the current rotation
so i've read through a number of issues it seems like Frost has had in the past. Are these all good now and high rating capable? I'd like to play this as frost instead of unholy.
hi guys, can anybody send me an screenshot or a setup for 2v2 without a healer ? i dont understand this much settings in gladi suit. sorry for my bad english. regards.
Having a hard time killing healers with this at 1550+ My uptime is great just can't seem to finish the deal.
Yea i find DS barely goes off if ever. I personally prefer to use it manually. I'm curious why there are so little hotkeys for this CR? I dont see things like Pet stun target or Pet stun Healer. I also dont see grip target or healer. A Dark Sim Hotkey for target and healer would work well too so that i'm not constantly flipping my focus around.
What exactly are you having an issue with? Does the bot always equip your 2h weapon? If so that's a honorbuddy feature and can be disabled at settings > auto equip
No, it's not doing the correct rotation with the DW idk it's barely putting any damage out like no dps. I'm 729 pvp ilvl
What is the wrong rotation in your eyes? If you're one of the people who believe obliterate should not be used at all for whatever reason you can toggle on the frost aoe rotation with a hotkey (not aoe mode but aoe rotation). Then it will only do the plague strike/howling blast/frost strike spam
There is a trial but you have to be logged into the store to see the option. If you are it should be next to the buy button
Death Knight - DW Frost PvP Guide Supported Season(s): WoD 3 (Patch 6.2.4) Latest Guide Revision: [3/22/2016] Latest Frost Profile Version: v1.0.0 [3/21/2016] About Author: Hello! Some of you may know me from past experiences with rotation botting w/ PQR, PE and early HB rotation botting prior to the release of an actual botbase dedicated to the fact. I've been a rotation developer before and now I'm more or less done with the development scene and find myself actually using other's rotations/work and find the lack of contribution unrewarding for me, so I decided to make this guide and give back the only way I know how, with knowledge and information gathered from hands on experience over the years. I'm switching my focus from PvE to PvP for the first time since I started playing WoW, so if any information in this guide is incorrect, subpar or could simply be said better by someone with more experience pvping in general or as a DK than me, then by all means please contact me with any and all criticism as I do not want to be staring anyone down the wrong path regardless if it's the most minute error on my part or not. Guide/profile support for Unholy is planned in the future when I get the conquest to buy a 2h. The current profile is setup to fit my individual needs and is untested in high rated PvP (I have not had the chance nor do I know any high rated DKs willing to give me feedback, thus why I'm releasing it here as a foundation for everyone to build off of), feel free to share any edits you've made that may provide better performance in a higher rated environment. Talents/Glpyhs: Standard DW Frost Arena Build: Viable Talents as DW Frost: Tier 3: Chilblains (With DK's current lack of mobility this is currently going to be our primary talent choice over Asphyxiate when our comp has sufficient stuns already or you would simply rather play with the silence from strangulate because the comp calls for it) Asphyxiate (A solid stun that replaces strangulate, costs no runes and has a 30yd range w/ a 30s cooldown, ideal against double melee dps comps/melee duels where you don't need the extra slow/immobilization from chilblains or the silence, great to screw a rogue or ferals opener with this) Tier 5: Death Siphon (Currently the best option in this tier for overall healing and survivability, this ability when paired with cooldowns can burst heal you multiple times to close to full, and it being ranged enables you to pillar hump like a ranged character to los damage and gain health back) Death Pact (This is mostly a highly situational talent only going to come into play when playing with a healer and when you find yourself dying in globals and in need of burst healing against strong opener comps, compared to overall healing provided during a game this talent is going to rank far below death siphon) Tier 6: Desecrated Ground (A second trinket which will allow some room for non-humans to get a second damage trinket, even as a human this talent remains very strong as it never hurts to have double CC removal and double damage trinkets) Remorseless Winter (This is not used very often but against double melee or melee-healer comps it can very easily land kills, only ideal to pair with chilblains and or the death and decay glyph as the target can flee away too easily otherwise, I generally take this against rogues/druid comps/duels) Viable Glyphs as DW frost: Switching out glyphs is something you'll find yourself having to do quite often, combined with the occasional talent swap depending on if I need Chill blains for strangulate + extra slow or my team is lacking stun and I need to take asphyxiate. Glyphs are often swapped out between every game in arenas depending on what the comp you're facing calls for, you'll mainly be swapping out Dark Sim and or Icy touch if the comp doesn't call for dispels/you're not going to be utilizing Dark Sim to a point that it's just worth it to take something else. Standard Glyph setups: 3v3s: Icy Touch, Regenerative Magic and Dark Simulacrum (Primarily against healer/caster comps, dark simulacrum should be your main slot to swap out for another glyph) Icy Touch, Regenerative Magic and Runic Power (Cookie cutter arena glyph setup, playing with a solid healer or hybrid class allowing you to forget the shifting presences glyph and using the runic power glyph to gain RP to recover from any downtime which has a pretty high uptime against a majority of comps) Swap out Dark Sim for shifting presences if you find yourself stance dancing a lot and not using Dark sim - or runic power for a good passive against heavy stun comps. 2v2s/duels/solo world pvp: Runic Power, Empowerment and Shifting Presences (Melee duels, mainly for burst melee comps such as feral/rogue, would most likely swap out Shifting presences for Regenerative Magic against dks/enhance shamans/magic cleave or with a healer that allows you to stay in frost presence, swap out Empowerment for Icy Touch against purge heavy comps (ret paladins, priests/mages)) Regenerative Magic, Empowerment and Runic Power (Could against melee/caster comps with lots of CC/burst damage - More AMS uptime with regen, burst healing with Empowerment and Runic Power for passive gains over long games)) Icy Touch, Regenerative Magic and Dark Simulacrum (Primarily against healer/caster comps that require dispelling/more ams uptime and the ability to steal and use Dark Sim spells often, same as 3v3 usage - swapping out dark sim with what you feel is fit for that individual fight) Major Glyphs: Icy Touch (This is usually always glyphed, an absolute must against most healer comps (disc/holy priest, hpala, resto druids, kinda meh against shammies (as far as I know Ancestral Swiftness/Spiritwalker's Grace are all I know that can be dispelled from them) - always take this glyph against ferals/ret paladins/frost-fire mages in duels) Regenerative Magic (Amazing for nullifying cc casts, good against comps that won't directly pop the shield (magic-melee cleaves) so the cooldown is shortened) Dark Simulacrum (Right now GS is not correctly using Dark Sim against CC and heals, but is working fine on low health targets to steal ice block/bubble/cocoon/etc, glyph is a must against most healer comps to try to steal major cds (disc pain sup, pally bubble/sac, mistweaver coccoon) if you're using dark sim manually) Runic Power (Same as old pvp set bonus, great passive glyph to run against comps with multiple stuns, great for duels against rogues/warriors/ferals) Empowerment (A must for dueling, a maybe for double dps with a partner who has no hybrid healing and it's your responsibility to stay alive) Shifting Presences (Great when dueling other melee dps or doing double DPS for better survivability and damage output, also ideal if you're playing with healer and are often being pressured into stance dancing) Minor Glyphs: Resilient Grip (For the unlucky times you attempt to death grip an immune target) Path of Frost (Can come in handy in RBGs/world pvp to reduce fall damage) Gearing/Enchanting/Gemming: DW Stat Priority: Strength > Mastery > Versatility > Haste > Multistrike > Crit Source: http://www.arenajunkies.com/topic/294656-unholy-dk-research-and-stat-facts/ (DW Frost follows the same priority as Unholy, currently) Gems: Immaculate Mastery Taladite > Greater Mastery Taladite > Mastery Taladite Enchants: Main Hand: Rune of the Fallen Crusader Off-Hand: Rune of Razorice Neck: Gift of Mastery > Breath of Mastery Cloak: Gift of Mastery > Breath of Mastery Ring: Gift of Mastery > Breath of Mastery Best in slot Conquest gear (Season 3): You need to register and have one post to see spoilers! Playstyle/Tips/Misc: There are a few things I think a lot of people forget to mention when going into detail about how DW frost is played, first and foremost at max conquest gear I'm sitting at roughly 23% parry, which may not seem like a lot but against a melee this is one of your greatest mitigations and it's completely passive, when dueling another melee(DK, warrior, enhance, feral, etc), you don't want them to be hitting your back side - you want them to always be in front, the best way I've found to maximize kiting and parry chance is to simply face your target while jumping backwards (I achieve this by jumping, Holding S and using my left and right strafe keys to determine my direction - it doesn't hinder your movement speed and only increases your targets chance of getting parried back to back). Now that we covered parry, the second thing I feel people get misconstrued about DW dks is that because they can heal so well that they shouldn't attempt to kite other melee or LoS/Pillar hump, one of our greatest advantages is our ability to control the fight and also our survivability right now with Death Siphon having a 40yd range, I cannot count how many times I was close to death (20-30% HP) and found throwing up chains and running to a pillar has helped me recover to full and win the game. Also, when we have strong offensives going or available(Pillar of frost, buffs like Unholy Strength/Surge of Victory(Proc)/Rapid Adaptation(On Use)) this is a perfect time to go on the defensive and get some healing done with Death Siphon, if you're low enough to justify it toggle spam self heal and let your teammate know you're going to defensively LoS/kite, this can especially be nice with pets that typically will follow you behind a pillar - perfect time to toggle self heal and grab health off of that pet. Do not be afraid to switch targets often, this is how DW's playstyle works, it's very fast paced and allows for quick switches to close gaps and secure kills. If someone is just kiting you around a pillar do not be afraid to switch, sometimes it's very evident when you're not going to be able to kill a target - this is more important to keep in mind for healer 2s where you're going to be the only source of damage on the enemy team. Utilizing important routine hotkeys (Class Config --> Hotkeys Tab): Presence Hotkeys (-!- Recommended for maximum DPS/Rotation Performance: Disable auto presence switching by setting the 'Blood Presence (HP<) value to 0 and assigning keybinds to all three presences under the 'Hotkeys' tab. I have my presences bound to F1 for Frost, F2 for Blood, F3 for Unholy - as frost I rarely use unholy but it can come in handy in some key situations if you are really in need of the speed buff and forgive the damage loss. I have force frost presence toggled 90% of the time) Force Frost Presence (It's unwise to allow the rotation to stance dance for you as DPS is going to lack heavily against a lot of classes, especially healers/other DKs. When you're playing with a healer you're going to want to be in frost presence as much as you possibly can, I tend to have this hotkey toggled 90% of the time - see blood presence bellow) Force Blood Presence (This is a second must to Force Frost Presence being bound, DKs with the Glyph of shifting presences are much like a warrior with defense stance. You should be switching to Blood under crucial situations like when you know you're going to be focused by high burst classes, when you're low on HP and are being focused, it's a good mitigation when you know you're about to be swapped to after a high DR stun. Typically I will sit blood presence against Feral Druids, rogues and good Enhance shammies in duels as it's cheesy as hell; going Frost against other DKs/most other classes) Force Unholy Presence (I very rarely use this but sometimes it can become useful in arena or open world pvp when there's a gigantic gap between you and your target & there's not going to be repercussions when you switch (I.e. you need to deal damage or survive)). Defensive/Offensive Hotkeys Burst Target (I recommend a keybind far away; just enough away to be easy access but is not going to be pressed on accident) NOTE: The Settings Profile by default uses the top trinket slot when toggling Burst Mode. equip your on use in this slot for maximum damage or adjust the settings to your preference under (Class Config --> Routine 2 Tab --> Trinket use settings on the right side). Spam Selfheal (This should be used more than you would think and set to an easily reachable keybind, when you're starting to get into risky health values I'd toggle this mode and try to combine it with procs/buffs/cooldowns) Save Rune for Strangulate (Great hotkey for landing kills prior to burst, the downfall of not handling your rotation on your own is the inability to always for certain have utility spells when they're needed, not when it's just convenient to you - this will take away that rng and allow you to make sure you have that silence/stun needed for the healer/dps) Asphyx/Strangulate Healer/DPS (I typically set strangulate DPS to my regular asphyx/strangulate keybind and healer to ctrl+asphyx/strangulate keybind) Interrupt next Heal/CC (Again, something near or by your interrupt ability, such as ctrl/shift/alt+Mind Freeze keybind) AoE Mode enabled/disabled (Toggles the rotations ability to use AoE/Cleave abilities - this mode is enabled by default by the rotation for maximum DPS in most situations, not using Howling blast can hurt your Single Target damage as well, I only toggle this when I want absolutely no cleave and only Pure single target) Changelog: [ 11/6/2015 - Profile Version: v0.4 ] - Updated settings file for GS 2.17, updated guide for season 3 (Patch 6.2.3) [ 3/21/2016 - Profile Version: v1.0.0 ] - Updated settings file for GS 2.21.0, updated guide for Patch 6.2.4.
^ Oh My Jesus. Thank a lot lot lot. I dont know any thing about DK, i just bought this CR tho. After following your guide and google a bit more. My score in 2 days is W/L 22/15. Thank again man. Im very happy with this, i wish you can spend time on Hunter or Warrior to help newbies like me.
Anything over or close to 50% right now for DKs is a pretty solid W/L imo (certainly in comparison to current glad rated frost dks and other fotm specs) , as far as warriors/hunters go I've not placed much focus into either since I started playing (hunters are the only class I've never reached level cap on). As I just got back into wow after a half year break on a completely fresh account leveling has not been a high priority for me atm as I attempt to still maximize what I can out of the DK.
