I'm interested to see who all are just starting over or who will be returning to their accounts once the 6-month ban is lifted. I feel like once we get unbanned, Blizz will be watching our accounts like hawks. Seems strange to only get a 6-month ban instead of a perm ban because of botting.
Well when I get my account back, I won't be botting anymore. Gonna do work so it will be a valuable/main account. I'm just not sure if I should start fresh on a clean account or just stick with the account that got banned and will have a warning on it. Also, if I were to go ahead and open a new WoW account now on the account that got banned, would it just get banned as well?
Depends on how much you value WoW. If you're happy to go clean, then too easy. If you need gold and don't want to buy a second acc; then risk it with garrisions; if you are like "I don't want to play the game without being able to bot what I want" then you already know what to do
Starting over? I started again 10 min after i got banned. Been botting ever since, on same bnet as well. Couldnt resist the looms. Got 18 lvl 100 again and going strong. Blizz doesnt watch a thing, they got us on a scan. And the rest of the bans made, are prolly player reports. You can bot smart to decrease your chance but if blizz, lets say, scans again 1 week before the 6 month ban is lifted they got a nice pr stunt again. Again thousands banned and we continue on our old account. For me, ill keep the old one to be safe, If they didnt touch gb im loaded and 11 lvl 100 + several gbank filled with all sorts of crap would be nice as a fallback. Now theres people who claim the above to be false, cool. Thats your opinion, this is mine.
If I bought the game again for a new license on the same bnet account, would I get the mounts, achieves, pets etc. that I had on my banned WoW license?
Yes. It's b.net account bound, not license. And to answer your previous question as well, no. If you create any new accounts under the same b.net account that has the suspended license on it, you'll be fine. As long as you don't encourage a ban/suspension on the new one.
