ok here is the deal.. first of all I have 2 accounts one which was recently suspended for 72 hours but I have still been botting my other.. This has nothing to do with botting so I'm putting it here in General! Well I accidentally clicked out of my wow game (its in window mode) and I thought it was nothing until I try to log back in. I type in my old password that I had before I got banned (since they told me through email I needed to reset my password) and when I typed that in of course I got a message saying it was invalid.. so I go to type in my new password I get this message.. "Our login system has detected a change in your access pattern. In order to protect the account, we require you to verify your identity via a message sent to the email address associated with this account. For more information, please visit us.battle.net/wow/account-locked/en-us/" So this really didn't seem that bad.. at first... I go to the page start the account recovery then realize... oh shit!! I don't remember my cd key's and the security question I thought would work.. did not! This account is old and I know I no longer have these cd keys.. and the security question should of been what i put but it wasn't?! I tried everything. I also don't have proof of purchase for WoW either to mail to Blizzard. So what do I do? What would Blizzard support do for me if they could do anything? This is bullshit that I forget my password ONCE and then its already locked down..
I had this happen after a 6 month break from gold farmers using my account if you email them from the email address you registered your battle.net account with they will email you back within 72 hours and restore your account and a new password link that's what happened to me but they wont reset your security question it blows buy an authenticator.
Also the message I got in-game that said an email was going to be sent to my email address.. well that email I guess was never sent?
No offense, but please use paragraphs that aren't blocks of text and this is why I keep a little file with my keys and what accounts they go to Sorry for your loss
As long as the account is in your name, you can call support and they will have you fax your ID to unlock the account. If it isn't in your name, and you don't remember the secret answer, you're basically screwed.
HAHA nevermind guys.. I found my old wallet and it had all a cd key in it so i tried it.. and it worked
My 2 cc. I buy all of my cd-keys online through gmail. anytime I've had to pull one up for acct verification or whatever, I just do a search in Gmail. I make sure that the cd-key email has the battle.net username in it as well. This works well for me as I have authenticators tied to all accounts and I'm pretty careful with my email access (i.e always C/P instead of typing password etc.). As far as the access pattern changes, I've only seen this once. I decided to run a rotating ip anytime I was going to bot, and not when I was playing by hand. Something I read that would help out in the case of a ban. I won't argue how effective this would be, just something I figured I'd try. Well, the first time I logged in from a non-US ip it immediately flagged and wouldn't let me online. It gave me that access change message and I had to make a call into Blizzard. So if you are running a hotspot protector thats probably it, other option obviously is that your account is compromised.
