^ Lol, I love lurking these forums and seeing toNyx with these comments. Makes me laugh. And then I move on to find the next one.
I've been botting for the past 3 leagues, give or take. Have experimented with over 10+ builds and still not found one I like (ie combo of tanky, fast and works well with EB). I honestly believe it is because I'm not investing enough into the bot's gear, but being that its purpose is to farm currency for my main's gear, it's a trade-off I'm willing to accept. I really want to make stronk MF build for that currency in low tier maps, but just haven't found one that works really well. Key point I'm trying to make is, there is no one build that has everything, and if you want the bot to do 10+ maps, you'll need to invest in it. I can confirm though that meta builds work just fine, and cyclone is working really well with the COC cyclone routine that's been recently updated. Edit: Also, for leveling, pick up a facebreakers for cyclone or firestorm with reverb rod (or its upgrade) along with all the usual leveling uniques (Goldrim etc). With either of these, the bot will (not very efficiently) carry itself into Merciless act 2/3 which by then you should be able to transition into the build you want for it.
My experience so far, Scion Spark: Good clear speed, relatively cheap gear for doing t5-t9, but dies alot both because of squishy factor, the fact that kitting/avoiding for the bot is not that great and also, there are alot of yellows/bosses with "proximity shield". Cyclone Marauder: Ok clear speed, very reliable and good survival, but expensive to build for mid-high end maps. Flicker strike: Very fast clear, relatively cheap to build for mid tier, easy to setup bot but because of the backtracking issues and nature of the flicker strike, you spend alot of time walking back for items/chest. Ofc, that doesnt really matter if you dont open chest and have a very strict pickup rule. The way i see it, its a trade off and you need to chose your class according to your goals. If you fine doing currency farms on low end maps a spark whould probably bee the best option, if you want high end maps you would go with something more beefy. In the end its all a matter of chosing the right class for your goal and ofc your budget in matters of Ex/gear and the time you want to put in to reading/researching/setup. Good luck!
Oh, i forgot blade vortex: good clear, basicly a good allrounder in terms of cost/gear/time, but i find it hard to do more than t10 with out putting alot of Ex into the build
Blade flurry, dual aw, sweeper slayer and bladevortex working for me t1-t15 maps, avg runspeed taken from 100 mapruns varies from 5 to 9 mins. All i can say = Gear matters, but those builds works well generally for me atleast.
CoC discharge is still top tier imo 2-3:30 average time in maps tier 1-13 and its relatively cheap this league, spend 12 exa on char in total with rerolling whole tree included If you want build under 2 exa blade flurry is the one that you should think about.
I run an earthquake slayer as it was also my lab farmer but it wont run any better than 6.5 mins per map...i disabled picking up anything but chaos recepie but cant make more thatn 5-6c per hour. got any tips? how do you go faster than 5 min?
What plugin do you people even use for running maps? I'm still stuck in Dried Lake. Won't the map plugin mess with AIF?
Which do ''people'' prefer nowadays? What are the pros and cons to each? Weird quirks I should know about? Thanks!
I like it, although it opens all the chests etc. which does slow it down. And my personal work around for the portal issue is picking up every portal.. so I'm having efficiency issues. But still running it to try and find showstoppers.
Yeah it works fine! Didn't try too long 'cause I noticed I had to swap over from 5 quicksilvers to some proper status ailment potions etc. and I was not feeling like doing that yet. Also, would an Autobomber work with the bot? Would only have to cast the Vaal Storm Calls at uniques, I think!
