I mean its just smart and logical, say expansion day comes and you have your dedicated raid teams level in groups maximum XP while you have other people bot. That way the professions and mats are there to gear those teams for running things then heroics for gear and orbs and bam raid teams are geared for raids right away. I don't know why more guilds would not take thus route
i do it for my guild every other night one night if profit one night is for the guild and it helps alot and you also get the backing of the guild i always have someone grped with my bot in the guild and if i get ganked he kills the other guy lol
wut. In all seriousness though. A lot of top guilds have a handful of botters, but mostly that's just for the gold not for supplying the raid with anything. If you are like me, you are far too selfish to actually hand stuff out to your raiders
TBH i enjoyed putting the work into my warrior and leveling him and gearing him and getting through icc 12/12 and i did that all with no help starting from level 1 with 50 copper worth on gear on. IDK i just like the idea of it i guess. but i sold that account and now i bot 16 hours a day LOL
I got 3 bots running 24/7, of course there are like 6 toons on each account, so to anyone looking, they see a single toon farming only twice a week, but yea... alls i got to say my guild never has to buy raid mats, and all our repairs are paid for ^^ definatelly helps focus on meaningful stuff like raid progression instead of mindlessly farming mats.
