Shiney Magikarp

Hey guys, just wondering about shiney magikarps and pokefarmer. Ive seen people catach a shiney in the app on a phone withing a couple karp catches.
I have caught over 400 in the past 4 days on pokeffarmer and have not found one shiney magikarp?
It seems to me that you have to be in app on the phone for the shiney to pop up. I do not think pokefarmer is capable of catchign a shiney.
Please let me know if anyone has for a fact caught one with PF or any information is helpful

i have caught 2 through PF. It is possible.

 

Got 2, one in my phone and other in PF. One is big, not a wonder but about 70% IV I was lucky with that one, now its a beautiful red Gyarados CP 2800

 

Are there any markers that tell you it's shiny if you catch it in Pokefarmer?

I have my Magikarp set to keep just the one that has the highest IV and release anything with lower IVs.

Not yet but I never transfer anything. I do it by the phone.

 

How you get it through PF?

 

i caught a shiney with the farmer today. so it works. Seems that the PF is not working right at the moment though
