I have insane, manually obtained back when shendralar was still a requirement and i looked into this specifically as most of those who grind the achievement will have and it is false. GMs will tell you that based on their own assumption

If you want PROOF to the contrary please download and install Overachiever addon, go into the achievement search pane and search insane. You will see your bloodsail remains lit green even if you loose the rep. This is the mechanic of how achievements work.. once you get credit for that faction it does not go away.

On my own route to insane i had already done loremaster, therefore i had completed all the quests that give steamweedle cartel rep already. I opted to go the opposite route to most people.. I farmed all 4 steamweedle reps to exalted using Free Knot! then once i got the credit for them i went and got to bloodsail honored which reverted the steamweedle rep to full hated. I bought about 200g worth of the various cloths from the AH and did the turn in quests that repair your rep with goblins (turning bloodsail back to hated)

Also i have to say i think i was one lucky sonofa... because while i was working on the achievement there were 5-6 people also trying to get the diamonds needed. One of them got hacked and the hacker dumped his 60 diamonds on the AH at 200g/ea which i promptly bought. I whispered the guy a week later and he got his account back and GMs had restored his diamonds for him, you might think it was expensive but i've raised well over 500k in gold through legal means and dont bot to earn gold (just for arch/fishing at the moment), paying for those was totally worth it compared to the time investment needed to farm them

TLDL version, trust someone who has done it, you do not need all the reps at the same time

 

I kept the bloodsail rep just because personally, I like having good reps with places. I fully intend on finishing it all the way to exalted one of these days after I finish loremaster now, since I've finished Insane.

if u read OP, he also states that we get different answers from all gms, and that HE is going to keep rep with Bloodsail, to be safe.

 

Yeah i appreciate that, but so many sources give people information that is straight wrong including the GMs, very few of those sources are from people who have actually tested it and completed the FoS and considering the needless hours some people have spent on this wrongly believing they had to have both at the same time

If it were me and id gone to the extra pain of getting them all at the same time and then found out later id done it for no reason id be pissed, im trying to save a few people that much

Does anyone have problems with the fray island profile? After a few rounds on the island my toon get stuck in a house and near the water...(i use the profile in the OP) Could anyone help me out?

 

I'm running that one too atm, and dont have any problem. I've removed all plugins, I only use BuddyCenter and Convalesce CC. Only sometimes it stuck into the house, under the first stairs. I've noticed that if I run HB without "Use Experimental Stuck Handling" I'll not stuck. Try with this conf.

did they fix bloodsail rep? Like can you kill guards till exalted or do you still have to kill jazzrik and shelly?

 

You can kill guards til Exalted, but they are really difficult to take out. You'd need a party I'm fairly certain.

 

they have not fixed it completely. Unfortunetly casters cannot single target cast on the guards. Which means for my mage all I can do is flamestrike, dragons breath and blastwave, which is terrible dps in comparison. This is supposed to be addressed in an upcoming patch

 

So, I am currently Revered with all of Steamwheedle Cartel and Hated with Bloodsail Buccaneers. I already have obtained Honored in the past with Bloodsail Buccaneers (have the title as well), was wondering if there was a way to grind Bloodsail Buccaneers to Exalted without losing my reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel? Only reason for wanting Bloodsail Buccaneers to exalted is just to have it. No other real reason.

 

The junkbox profile does work? U just need a CC who handles it. Look in FAQ.

So just a bit of an update for you on my journey towards becoming Insane! I have recovered my Bloodsail rep a few thousand into honored. No small feat given that the Faldir’s Cove kills only give you around 5 to 25 xp per kill.

The job was made much easier though through the passive use of Honorbuddy. While I used a bot account to farm kills on one computer, I had my main account (which I do not bot ever) join in a party and so I got all the rep from those kills on my main without actually having to run around killing by hand. I would love to have been able to do this all the way to Exalted, but these mobs stop giving rep one you hit revered.
BTW, for those of you having issues botting this area, I found it easier to simply blackspot the entire pirate ship from top to bottom along with the ramp and area around the ramp to prevent my toon from going inside and getting stuck on occasion. The respawn rate for the pirates outside the ship is fast enough that he was never standing around for more than a few seconds. You do have to keep an eye out for folks in the area doing quests with these npcs. I think I had to stop botting about a half dozen times to let people interact with them to complete things.

I have moved on to getting my Steamwheel Cartel rep back using much the same method as Bloodsail. That is slow going but I will get there eventually. I feel good about getting my Bloodsail back up to honored. I know that there is a good possibility that it is no longer necessary to have it at the same time as Steamwheel for the achievement, I just didn’t want to take the chance. Also, since Steamwheel takes so long to get back, I did not want to have to do it a second time. Bloodsail was much quicker to bot with the 5 to 25 rep per kill than Steamwheel with its 2 to 6 rep per kill. Hey, I also et to have the bloodsail Admiral acheivement on my bot which is a neat plus!

I have now started the long harvest for mats to create my Darkmoon cards for rep turn in and have been making pickpocketing trips to gather the junkboxes needed for Ravenholt. I figure a few strong weeks of gathering and crafting and I should have the title down!
